Bald Mountain's 3,400 vertical feet of fall line terrain is complimented by the region's limitless backcountry access that gives the area the reputation of the Alps of America. Home to Sun Valley HeliSki, skiers and snowboarders can turn the fun meter up to 11 nearly every day of the week for fresh powder turns with one of the most respected heli-ops in the US .

If you are more the endurance athletic type, your heart will jump at the 200+ kilometers of meticulously groomed and maintained Nordic trails which span the length of the valley from Bellevue in the south to Galena Lodge nearly 40 miles to the north.

Most people associate Sun Valley recreation with world-class skiing, but not every Sun Valley recreational activity requires a lift ticket. The surrounding area supplies visitors with an endless variety of spectacular scenery and sporting diversions. In Sun Valley, you're only limited by your imagination.

There are endless opportunities and locations to go hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, or land your first 18-inch Rainbow Trout on the Big Wood River.
