Wake up to mountain views and jump on the free bus route to Vail Village and Vail Ski Mountain, just 10 minutes away. INSIDE THE LOFT The unit is located in building B of the complex, which you’ll reach by turning right off Sandstone. Park in a spot in the open lot and make your way up the stairs to the third floor. Inside and up the wooden stairs is the loft bedroom, where a queen bed is the perfect place to rest up for another day on the slopes. Two side tables and built-in cabinets offer ample storage for your luggage. Back downstairs, a full bath comes with a single sink with storage underneath, toilet and tub and shower combination. The practical and simple kitchen has all the basics for cooking up meals and snacks, including with oven, fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Sit down to meals at the kitchen bar that has three barstools. The kitchen area also has a washer and dryer. When it’s time to relax for the night, the comfy couch with chaise lounge is the perfect spot to put your feet up. Huge windows let in tons of natural light and afford you amazing views of the mountain. The living room is also outfitted with a leather arm chair, 44” flat-screen TV and wood-burning fireplace for those cold winter nights. If extra guests want to crash for the night, the couch doubles as a queen sofa sleeper. Take your morning coffee out to the private balcony, where mountain views spread out before you. A 2-person bistro table offers seating to enjoy the views in comfort. THE LOCATION When people think Vail, they think skiing, and you’re only 10 minutes away from Vail Ski Mountain and some of the best runs in the country. If you don’t feel like driving, hop on the free bus, which stops right outside the complex. Skiing isn’t all there is to do in the winter either…try your hand at tubing and winter hiking and biking. The Vail Nordic Center (9 minutes) has snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. In the summer, Piney River Ranch (40 minutes) is a beautiful hiking and camping area. Scenic and peaceful, the ranch also has fly-fishing, canoeing, horseback riding and stand-up paddle boarding. Take an afternoon and explore Vail Village (7 minutes), walking up and down Bridge Street. There you’ll find art galleries, clothing stores, gift shops and ski stores where you can shop til you drop. Don’t miss the Vail Farmers Market in the summer and fall for fresh produce, boutique vendors and local artisans.

Vail News and Events

Vail, Colorado

The Vail Valley is a spectacular experience awaiting your discovery in Colorado!

Vail is a central access point for all kinds of year round activities. Named after state highway engineer Charlie Vail, who built the first highway through the area, the mountain wasn't "discovered" until the mid-1950s by 10th Mountain Division trooper Peter Seibert and local rancher Earl Eaton. When Seibert and Eaton hiked to the top of the mountain they looked out upon the vast open bowls and realized it was the perfect spot for ski slopes. In January 1962, their dream came alive and the U.S. Forest Service granted the final permit to Seibert and Eaton. Vail Mountain opened in December of the same year. Today Vail Mountain is North America's largest ski area.

Vail's lifestyle combines one of the best alpine resorts in the world with a friendly, small-town feel. Visitors enjoy bountiful year-round recreational and cultural opportunities. Vail visitors and residents enjoy more than a thousand acres of open space, accounting for 30 percent of town-owned land. Vail is surrounded by 350,000 acres of national forest crowned by more than 5,000 skiable acres on the largest ski mountain in North America. At the foot of the ski mountain is the Town of Vail, a community bathed in charm.

Bud Light Hot Summer Nights Concert Series: This annual free summer concert series is hosted at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater Tuesday evenings throughout the summer months. With shows ranging from rock to country to bluegrass to funk and beyond, the Bud Light Hot Summer Nights has become synonymous with summer for locals and visitors alike. Throngs of music lovers gather at the Amphitheater each week to enjoy sunshine, picnics, friends and incredible free music.

Onthesnow.com: The brainchild of World War II veterans who trained in nearby Camp Hale prior to the war, Vail’s Bavarian-style village pays homage to the European ski towns that inspired it. The resort opened in 1962 and today attracts skiers and riders from around the world with 5,000+ acres of lift-served terrain, including seven famed “Back Bowls” and Blue Sky Basin. But it’s not just the legendary skiing that makes Vail like nothing on earth. The town enjoys a vibrant culinary and cultural scene, a healthy supply of après and nightlife options, world-class hotels and spas along with family activities and adventures for non-skiers beneath a backdrop of the picturesque Gore Range.
