Love This House! 2nd time we've stayed at this house and it is perfect. Fenced yard for dogs, washer/dryer, OUTDOOR SHOWER, super clean and close to everything with parking for 2 cars at least. Cute cottage Getaway I just wanted to share with you in case you weren't aware. The lawn really needed to be mowed :( The stove was pretty dirty and the plates were dirty in the cupboard. The outdoor shower was awesome but kind of yuck because there were half used open bottles of shampoo and soap left. Lastly, the high top table and chairs were super dirty, we had to clean those too before we used them. All in all though, it was a lovely stay. Those were minor things but just not what we have become accustomed to staying with you all. Everything in the past has been spot on. We will definitely continue to stay with you, as we've always been so pleased. &#xD83D;&#xDE03;

Charming and convenient First time guests at Le Chateau and greatly enjoyed our 9 day stay. Location in old town, but on a quiet street surrounded by great neighborhoods, easy access to everything, and 2 min to the beach by golf cart. Cottage was bright and perfect for 2 persons, as was the fenced yard and outdoor shower for our doggies. The cottage was well equipped with everything we could think of for our longer stay, (except BBQ utensils). Overall, we loved this place and our stay in Port A, and look forward to becoming one of its many repeat customers. Cozy and perfect little cottage Such a perfect little get-away and cozy little cottage. I loved the yard and the location! Old Town Treasure My family has stayed at the "Le Chateau" property before. We loved it then, so we booked it again, and we're glad we did. It has become our favorite rental property in PA. We were pleasantly surprised with some changes to the property since our last visit. When we last visited, the property had a garage that appeared to be a storage area for the property owner. That has now been converted into another rental, called "La Petite Chateau." (It's all on the same lot, separated by a privacy fence in the back yard.) My wife an I were thrilled to see this. We will likely be back soon, renting both cottages - one for us and the other our high-school aged teens. The fenced yard is perfect for our dogs, and the location is great, featuring easy access to the town and a 10 minute walk down to the beach.

Awesome First Visit to Port A Great little house with a wonderful screened in porch and lovely yard. Easy walk to the beach. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Doris, who was staying in the adjacent rental. She’s a great host and really nice person. We also found the rental company very easy to work with and would surely rent through them for our next visit.

Le Chateau It was wonderful overall. The only issue (which is what we run into with every rental in Port A) was that the property was not cleaned well at all prior to our arrival. We spent the initial 45 minutes sweeping, cleaning, etc.

Pets Welcome My experience began great! My wife and I arrived with our two curious mini schnauzers to this cozy cottage and felt right at home. Once we settled, we noticed the place needed a lot of work. When a rental property gives you a pamphlet on how they expect you to maintain the property and haven't done so themselves, it leaves you questioning if you're the one who does the "make ready" or does someone else? The place didn't look swept or mopped, the table cloth looked like it had never been washed and overall looked like someone had just left seconds before we arrived. There are posts about picking up your own dog's poop but there was poo all over the back yard. Just curious about what the large Clean Up Fee is for? On our third day, we decided to leave the back door open to enjoy the breeze that was coming through. Mind you, this was NOT the main gate door, just the house back door. We felt secure because the main gate was locked... so we thought. A renter had the exact same key to our rental and walked right through. My wife and I were napping and heard footsteps. I woke up frantically and followed the gentlemen outside. The man apologized and said he and his wife thought this was their rental and had the keys to open up the home. Apparently, they have converted the garage into an Air B&B and the renter was confused and assumed they would be staying in the same home. We don't understand how the renting agency could have given another renter the exact same keys. I'm just glad nothing bad happened. This could've gone wrong really quick. Definitely ruined the experience. It's extremely important to feel safe where you stay if it's not your home and we definitely didn't after that.

Quiet location, with a secure yard for small dogs We enjoyed our 4-night stay at this cottage last week. We were a little concerned after viewing some recent reviews that had been posted since we booked it, but we had no problems. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, in a good location, within easy walking distance (a half-mile) of the beach and many restaurants. One reason we booked this cottage was for our small dogs to be safe on their off-leash excursions into the backyard, and it was perfect in that respect. The fence is secure, provides privacy, and there are no gaps that the dogs could slip through or under. I give it an A+ for dog security. The outdoor shower has a handheld shower head that makes washing the sand and salt water off the dogs a pleasure. In terms of the key/security situation that a previous reviewer mentioned, we did not experience any issue. Two keys were provided: one for the gate where you access the backyard from the driveway, and a separate key to get into the house. The cottage was clean. The decor is fresh and cute. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning works well and is very quiet. Good water pressure in the shower. The TVs have Roku built in so you can use Netflix or other streaming services. Convenient & Pet Friendly Lovely cottage styled vacation home. Comfortable and in a nice location. Walking distance to beach. The only issues we had were flying ants in our bedroom and no laundry room. The outdoor shower was handy and if there weren't so many mosquitos we would have hung out in the backyard or side porch. Precious cabin in Port A This little cabin in Port A is a haven sroounded by the memories of a very disastrous storm. But from the comfortable bed to the cozy furniture and most importantly the perfect screened in porch with constant soft breezes, you almost forget what happened, not too long ago.. we were very happy to have found such a nice place to spend a couple of days.

Spring Visit to Port Aransas This property was in an excellent location and was very neat and very clean. The backyard is beautiful and enjoyed by us and especially our two dogs. As stated in other reviews, the mattress needs replacing. It was horribly uncomfortable. As was the furniture. The two chairs and the couch in the living area provide no back support and not at all comfortable. If these items were replaced, this rental would be A plus plus.

Our stay at Le Chateau 2018 We had a wonderful time at Le Chateau. I definitely recommend this place. It is beautifully decorated with a wonderful private backyard. The owner was great to work with. We needed heat on one of the days and we didn’t know how to turn it on. Not only did they send someone over immediately but the owner brought over a loaf of freshly baked bread hot from the oven for our trouble. So thoughtful! It’s very sobering to see evidence of the hurricane damage and the tremendous effort expended to get their community back. Port A strong!

Birthday Getaway 2018 We usually stay in a beachfront condo when we visit Port A, but this time we wanted to bring our Golden Retriever, so I looked for a small, affordable home with a backyard. “Le Chateau” immediately caught my eye! The pictures were so cute, and I loved the backyard. When my daughter and I arrived we were immediately struck by how quaint and honey the hone was/is. Although it is very small and ended up not having a washing machine/dryer or dishwasher, the hone was very welcoming and convenient to everything. If you are looking for a “home away from home”, this place is like a hidden treasure. Suggest more towels, electric outlets and smaller pots/pans and eating bowls.

Cute cottage, comfortable screened in porch We really enjoyed our stay at this little one bedroom cottage. The screened in porch was pleasant. There is a large yard that we did take advantage of. The location was a few blocks from both town and the beaches. There was not a lot of room but furnishings were adequate.

Great location and allows dogs We wanted a house near the beach that allowed our dogs and had a good fenced in yard. Perfect place and even had an outdoor shower and screened in porch and was decorated so cute. I loved the cabinets in the bathroom to put all my makeup and toiletries. Also had lots of drawers in the bedroom.

Great place for dogs and people We brought our dogs down for a couple of days at the beach and found Le Chateau. It fit our needs perfectly. The yard and porches were very dog secure, our beagle checked it. The outdoor shower was very useful for getting sandy feet and dogs rinsed off. There was a nice breeze so we didn't have mosquito issues but there is also a screened porch. The house is about a two minute drive to the beach and is located in a neighborhood with little traffic so it was really quiet. We will definitely try to stay here for future trips.

Wonderful Stay This cottage was the perfect rental for our family vacation. Us and our pups enjoyed everything about the house. The yard was perfect for the pups to play and us lay around and enjoy. We got good use out of the hammock too! The outdoor shower was convenient when coming back from the beach. We were very appreciative when the owner came by and let us have access to the washer/dryer. Beach towels stack up after a week at the beach. The screened-in patio was perfect to watch the July 4th fireworks. Inside had all the amenities needed. The location was great as well, close to the beach and restaurants. We look forward to staying here in the future.

Charming and cozy cottage so close to everything! What a gem to find! My husband and I took our two boys down for a few days and had an incredible stay here. Starting with the nice welcome basket we enjoyed during our stay. The car ride was less than 5 minutes to the beach and to the numerous restaurants and shops PA has to offer. The outside shower, screened in porch and hammock in the private backyard were more than we could ask for after a long day of activities. We are planning to return again next month!!!

Perfect Little Cottage This cottage is beautiful. The screened-in porch is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee! They had a basket of snacks waiting for us, which was a nice touch! Loved our stay. The only downside is that the beach is not walking distance - requires a quick drive!

Our Weekend Getaway We had a very good experience staying here. The decorations all over the house added a nice beach feel and made the house feel welcoming. Everything was clean, and there were plenty of amenities. The bedroom is big and the bed is extremely comfortable. The bathroom is easy to access from two different doors. We appreciated finding plenty of pots,pans, eating, and drinking utensils. The backyard is a pretty good size and the screen patio came in handy during the night time when mosquitoes are out. I would recommend this beach house to anyone. Next time we vacation here, we will definitely book this house again!

Not a VRBO fan Full disclosure: I am not a VRBO fan. Ive had nothing but wonderful experiences with a competitor, where you actually communicate with the OWNERS, and have rarely had a good experience with VRBO. Lots of misinformation, buggy booking procedure, etc. The house itself is adorable, and clean. The bed wasn't great, tho. My husband and I both got backaches and he ended up on couch our last night. We inquired about parking before booking and told them how big our boat was. There was not an inch to spare, and on one side we couldn't even walk by. When we hit the book button, website said not available, even while VRBO was sending confirmation emails. Husband emailed to ask and was again told unavailable. Ridiculous. I was contacted before our trip about what to bring. One of the things they listed was coffee filters. I emailed and asked if they provided coffee. They said bring both. When we got there, they had a kuereg machine. On our next to last day there, we fished early, then came back to nap. We were awakened by the gardener who said she was going to start sprinkler and asked us to turn it off in an hour. Also said exterminator was coming at 10 the next morning. By 11 the next morning we were tired of waiting. I called Port A Escapes and left a message. No call back. Called back at 11:30, got someone and complained. This was our last full day of vacation and we had wasted our entire morning! And yes, we did not have to be there for the exterminator. But we both travel a lot for business and have had a few too many things stolen from hotel rooms. Oh!!! I almost forgot! Listing says this property has a dishwasher. It most certainly DOES NOT. Cute house, but get your act together VRBO and Port A Escapes!
