Juneau, the capital of Alaska is located on the Inside Passageway. While it spans an area greater than the size of Rhode Island and Delaware states combined, the population is only 30,000. The city of Juneau sits at sea level but the surrounding mountains rise to heights of 3,500ft to 4,000ft. At the summit are the Juneau Icefields, which are a large masses of ice comprised from over 30 glaciers.
