Argentina is an long-stretched country in South America. One of the largest countries in the world, it offers different places of interest to suit every visitors needs. From striking landscape to snow-covered mountains, from spectacular waterfalls to magnificent glaciers, Argentina is a tourists haven; no wonder it is a major tourist destination in South America. It also includes the highest and lowest points in the whole continent: the tallest mountain in the Americas, Cerro Aconcagua in the Andes mountain range and Laguna del Carbon or Coal Lagoon, a salt lake in the Province of Santa Cruz.

The countrys capital, Buenos Aires, is a major tourist destination. Literally meaning fair winds or good air, this huge city provides a wide range of historical and cultural sites, nightlife experiences, restaurants and pubs, with good services. Some of its main attractions are the oldest neighborhoods of Montserrat and San Telmo. They contain some of the most ancient, more than a hundred years old, and most important buildings in Buenos Aires. In Montserrat, these include: the Pink House or La Casa Rosada, the office of Argentinas president; Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires or National School of Buenas Aires, a public high school that provides free education to its people and one of the most prestigious schools in the country; and Palacio Barolo, a national historic monument along Avenida de Mayo. Montserrats architecture is a real must-see. San Telmo, on the other hand, features cobbled streets full of tango bars, antique shops, museums and colonial buildings. Some of the most interesting spots are Plaza Dorrego, the second oldest plaza in Buenos Aires, and El Zanjon de Granados, a well-preserved and probably the most important historical building in the city encapsulating 500 years of history. The capital city is also home to the river-port town Tigre. Considered a sub-tropical Venice, it consists of swampy little islands and murky creeks. A boat ride along Parana Delta is the best way to explore the area. Another favorite spot for tourists is the colorful neighborhood of La Boca. The picturesque landscape, its vibrant colors and even foot ball games in La Bombonera attract tourists to visit the district.

Argentinas Iguazu National Park in the province of Misiones is one of the most famous attractions in the country. It features the stunning set of waterfalls, the Iguazu Falls, and is one of the many UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Argentina. Commonly known as the Cataratas, the magnificent waterfalls are surrounded by thick greeneries of a jungle that is home to colorful birds and butterflies. The sight is astounding.

Aside from Laguna del Carbon, Santa Cruz Province is also home to Los Glaciares National Park. A UNESCO site, it is one of the most important tourist destinations in Patagonia. It features the Perito Moreno Glacier, a majestic translucent cliff of ice in many shades of blue and green. Seeing this natural marvel is a once in a lifetime experience, so remember to put Los Glaciares National Park on your list of places to visit. Another UNESCO site lies on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Chubut Province. A significant nature reserve, Valdes Peninsula is home to various bird species and marine life. This natures wonder remains the natural habitat of the giant blubbery elephant seals, southern right whales, large colonies of penguins and many more. This piece of heaven is a must-visit. Another great reason to explore this region is Ruta de los Siete Lagos or Seven Lakes Route. This route leads to the sparkling waters in different hues of the Seven Patagonian Lakes. Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego is known as the worlds southernmost city and another reason to visit the Patagonia region. Take a ride on the End of the World Train and explore this beautiful city. Or you can stop by San Carlos de Bariloche, or simply Bariloche, in Rio Negro for some skiing, trekking and other activities. Situated at the foothills of the Andes, it provides a perfect location for such adventures.

Cordoba Province is endowed with scenic views and picture-perfect landscape, thanks to Sierras de Cordoba. The magnificent mountain range sprawls along Pampas and provides natural sceneries everyone will surely enjoy. The Jesuit Block and Estancias of Cordoba are some of the many interesting places to visit. These estancias are large cattle ranches ran by Jesuits to support schools and other missionary purposes. The well-preserved structures reflect their history and economic importance during those times and are now designated UNESCO sites.
