Canada is home to many species of wildlife, and wildlife watching is one of the greatest things to do when you are in the country. One of the places you have to visit to have a taste of this wildlife experience is Churchill. A small town in Manitoba, on the western part of Hudson Bay, Churchill is well-known for its inhabitants: the polar bears. You can watch their migration every October or November and see the spectacular Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, at night. In British Columbia, you can go to the Great Bear Rainforest to have a rare opportunity to have an encounter with spirit bears or Kermode bears. These bears are black bears with recessive genes that cause them to have white creamy coats. They are elusive and also called ghost bears. Digby Neck in Nova Scotia, Baie Ste-Catherine in Quebec and Vancouver Island in British Columbia are favorite spots to observe these beautiful creatures.
