Invermere is situated in the eastern section of British Columbia, Canada, and is one of the most sought-after tourist attractions in the country. A proof of the booming tourism industry in Invermere is the population that increases from around 4,000 people to 40,000 during the summer season. Invermere is also on the northwest shore of Lake Windermere. It is near Kootenay National Park, which is known to be a world heritage park. Its distance from the park is only about 17.5 kilometers.

The Fairmont Hot Springs and the popular Radium Hot Springs can be found nearby, with the Radium Hot Springs being situated inside Kootenay National Park. There are also less popular and less developed natural hot springs found here such as the Lussier Hot Springs accessible via the Whiteswan Forestry Road. Theres another undeveloped natural spring nearby known as the Ram Creek Warm Springs where cooler water is found.

To get around in Invermere you should have a car otherwise transportation can be difficult. There are only a few reliable public transportation options in the area. Other means of getting around is through riding a bicycle. In the downtown, most of the centers and facilities can be reached by walking because they are quite near each other but in other parts of the community, its going to be quite a long ride to get around to places.
