Mill Bay, British Columbia, is located on the east side of Vancouver Island, about 25 miles north of Victoria. The Village of Mill Bay is surrounded by beautiful parks and outdoor recreational activities. The blue waters of the Saanich Inlet and the majestic mountain views, make this a perfect setting. Close to all the amenities of the city, but quiet and peaceful, Mill Bay is an ideal vacation destination.
Mill Bay and the surrounding area offer a multitude of things to see and do. Majestic snow capped Mount Baker is to the east and the waters of the bay nearby are full of crabs, bright golden sun star fish and purple star fish. On the breakwater, seals bask in the sun, nurse their babies or just play in the water. Occasionally Orca whales make their way in or out of the inlet.
Nearby is Arbutus Ridge Golf and Country Club, a renowned golf course and dining room. A few miles north, towards Duncan, is the Cowichan Valley Golf and Country Club. Both are open to the public. Not far away is the famous Butchart Gardens. Take a tour of the Merridale Cider works, home of the famous Merridale Cider and Scrumpy.
For the outdoors person there is swimming, waterskiing, boating, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, sailing, hiking, mountain biking and birdwatching. Take a cruise or an airtour or visit artisans and antique shops. The area's main shopping is at Mill Bay Centre and Cobble Hill has hosted its famous August Fair for more than 85 years - part of the movie "Little Women" was filmed there!
