The Okanagan is famous for its wide array of golf courses. The
best are described below; however, there are 38 in total; more than enough
to choose from. Find Okanagan
golf vacation rentals near your favorite course,
or try out a new one!
- Predator Ridge – With 36 holes of golf, Predator
Ridge is often considered the best in the interior of the Okanagan. The
area boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding semi-arid mountains.
With many awards tucked under its belt, both the Predator Course (par
71, 18 hole) and the Ridge Course (par 72, 18 hole) are worth a play
when in the area. Amenities include club rentals, driving range, pro
shop, restaurant and a snack bar.
- Tower Ranch – A favorite in Kelowna with spectacular
views of the valley and a challenging game. Opened recently in 2008,
Tower Ranch is an 18 hole, par 72 course. Often placing in the top 3
best Canadian golf courses (SCOREGolf/Golf Digest), this semi-private
club is a must-play. Amenities include club rentals, driving range, pro
shop, restaurant and snack bar.
- The Rise – This course provides stunning views
of Lake Okanagan from 400 meters above for 12 out of 18 holes (par 72).
Natural wetlands in the area have been preserved and incorporated into
the design. The course’s trademark is the 15th hole, 100 feet above
the green and framed by a large pond. Amenities include club rentals,
driving range, pro shop, restaurant and snack bar.
- The Bear and Quail – Both courses are
18 hole, par 72 courses. Well placed bunkers, sculpted mouldings, grassy
swells and collection areas lend this course a bit of bite. The Quail
boasts dramatic elevation changes with 6,794 yards of multi-tiered fairways.
The Bear stretches 6,885 yards with sculpted airways around forests and
sage bush hills. Amenities include club rentals, driving range, pro shop,
restaurant and snack bar.
- Black Mountain – This beautiful 18 hole
par 71 course is tucked into a valley on the way to Big
White. For the
golfers who like to target, this course is full of narrow fairways and
perfect for putting. Certain holes play over a stunning preserved ravine.
Amenities include club rentals, driving range, pro shop, restaurant and
lounge.
- Fairview Mountain – With over 160 breathtaking
acres set in the wine capital of Canada (Oliver),
this 18 hole par 72 course is a must-play for those who like scenic games.
Atop a desert mountainside overlooking wineries and vineyards, Fairview
Mountain encourages players to “tee it high and let it fly”.
Amenities include club rentals, driving range, putting green, pro shop,
clubhouse, lounge, and restaurants.
- Osoyoos – In the heart of the south Okanagan
Valley is Canada’s only desert style golf course. With 36 holes
this course has the longest playing season in the area. With views of
Lake Osoyoos,
orchards, and wineries this links-style course in a park-like setting
is a must-play. Amenities include club rentals, driving range, pitching
and putting green, pro shop, clubhouse, and restaurant.
