The southeastern part of Florida includes the region along the Atlantic coastlines of the state, and some of its major attractions are the lovely white sand beaches and the luxurious hotels and resorts near them. But even aside from these beaches, Southeast Florida has many attractions waiting to be explored.

Palm Beach County, one of the most populous counties in Florida, is said to be the playground for the rich and famous because of its rich cities such as Palm Beach and Boca Raton. Being the easternmost town in Florida, Palm Beach features a lot of water surface and was established as a resort. One of the interesting places you might want to check out is the historical Breakers Hotel. Situated beside Lake Worth Lagoon, the formerly named Palm Beach Inn became popular and guests started requesting rooms facing the breakers. So they renamed it The Breakers. Flagler Museum, also known as Whitehall, is a National Historic Landmark. The 55-room mansion of grandeur and extravagance, once owned by the late Henry Flagler, a key person in the development of Floridas Atlantic Coast, is now open to the public, offering various exhibits and guided tours. The big Kapok Tree just a few steps away from the museum attracts visitors too. One of the most visited places in Palm Beach is the shopping district called Worth Avenue. The lines of coconut palm trees, the beautiful sunset and high-end shopping boutiques make this street a must-see. Other notable sites are the Four Arts Gardens with its beautiful and well-maintained botanical gardens and the historical Mar-A-Lago. Red Reef Park and South Inlet Park are two of the most notable beaches in Boca Raton.

Miami is another city full of beautiful cityscape and offers a lot of activities too. Aside from the famous Miami Beach, it is also home to one of the largest and busiest ports in the United States, the Port of Miami. Coined the Cruise Capital of the World, it caters to some of the largest cruise ships in the world. Miami has many tourist attractions that will surely impress its visitors. One of these is the Coral Castle, a castle built single-handedly by Ed Leedskalnin dedicated to his true love. People compared the mysteries behind the construction of those intricate carvings and impressive sculptures within the castle to that of the Stonehenge and the Pyramids. Little Havana, locally known as Calle Ocho, was formerly a settlement for Cuban immigrants and is today a street of great restaurants, shops, art galleries and even music festivals. Another US Historic Landmark is the Freedom Tower. It currently serves as a museum for contemporary arts. Downtown Miami is a historic district, bustling with 60 and more Modern and Classical Revival style old buildings. Its largest and most frequently visited parks are the Bayfront Park, Bicentennial Park and Pace Park. There are sightseeing and airboat tours you can participate in so you can explore Miami to the fullest. Or enjoy activities such as boating, deep-sea diving, cruising or other water sports.

Wander along the Old Town Key West by walking tours or renting a bike. Stop by Duval Street, a bar and restaurant district, for some entertainment and relaxation. Audubon House and the Tropical Gardens are a history and art museum that features works of art by John James Audubon and some historical artifacts of Key West. Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, a tropical butterfly habitat, and Key West Botanical Forest and Garden, which contains an array of champion tree specimens, are two excellent places to hang out. Or you might want to take a look at the Ernest Hemmingway House and catch a glimpse of the many descendants of his widely known polydactyl cats.

Another popular tourist destination is the city of Fort Lauderdale. The main attraction: the beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach or simply the Strip. Aside from the many bars, coffee shops and restaurants, the beach offers loads of activities for the whole family. Explore along the beach while running or bicycling, boating or taking a water taxi, river cruising or go deep sea fishing. Or if you are lucky, you might be able to witness the annual Winter Fest Boat Parade. There are also lots of shopping malls you can choose from.
