The United States of America is a vast country and there are so many wonderful places to visit in this part of the world. Here are some of the most important destinations you should seek out.

One of the most famous icons in the USA is the Statue of Liberty in New York City. Symbolizing freedom, the colossal sculpture of Libertas, Roman goddess of freedom, was given to the United States by France as a gift for their celebration of Independence. Standing magnificently in the middle of Liberty Island just a few miles from Manhattan, Liberty Enlightening the World welcomes visitors and newcomers as they arrive at the port of New York. One of the experiences you dont want to pass up is walking the Brooklyn Bridge. The view from this 19th century engineering feat is spectacular. Have a glimpse of Brooklyn Heights, New Yorks loveliest neighborhood, the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline.

To experience the hustle and bustle of the city, take a walk at the crossroads of the world, Times Square. It is one of the busiest intersections in the world in a commercial and business district where the largest and brightest advertisements are displayed on huge billboards. It is also an entertainment center where people find a number of musical theaters. Times Square is busiest during New Years Eve when people flock to the area to celebrate the occasion. Another significant site to visit in the city is the Empire State Building. It is one of most famous of New Yorks skyscrapers. Visitors usually occupy the observation decks on the 86th and 102nd floors and experience being on top of the world. This is tourists favorite spot, well except maybe for people suffering from acrophobia.

New Yorks art museums are must-sees. They are havens for artists where they can find various artworks and masterpieces. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Frick Museum or the dramatic Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, these are some of the museums worth visiting. Another set of museums is waiting to be uncovered in Pennsylvania, such as the Philadelphias Art Museum. Feast your eyes on the collections of European and American art in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Rodin Museum and the Barnes Foundation. Then have a chocolate-filled tour at Hersheys, Pennsylvania.

Pay respect to famous music icons in Cleveland, Ohio by visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along the shores of Lake Erie. It showcases a variety of artifacts belonging to famous singers and songwriters like Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Elvis Presley and more. Maybe you want to visit the home of the late George Washington in Mount Vernon, Virginia or Americas most well-known cemetery, the Arlington National Cemetery where the remains of brave soldiers and heroes are buried. You can also pay homage to The King Elvis in Memphis, Tennessee where his Graceland Mansion is well-preserved and open for visitors. If you are a fan of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., you might want to take a stroll in his birthplace, the Sweet Auburn in Atlanta, Georgia. Another spot you dont want to miss in Atlanta is the worlds largest aquarium, the Georgia Aquarium, where you can meet beluga whales face-to-face. For a more adventurous experience, you can go hiking on the Appalachian Trail, one of hikers favorite trails.

Florida is one of the most favorite states for tourists. Maybe its because of the famous theme park Walt Disney World in Orlando or the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral where outer space experience is possible. It could be the stretch of islands from mainland Florida to the Gulf of Mexico called the Florida Keys or the South Beach that cause crowding of people in this area.

Chicago, Illinois, is known for its commercial, technological and architectural advancements. Spend a day at the Museum Campus and learn about the natural world or the Millennium Park and admire some beautiful works of art.

One of the most important sights to see in Arizona is the Grand Canyon, one of USAs most pronounced natural wonders. Be amazed by the marvelous view while enjoying a boat ride through the Colorado River.

California is another tourist spot. Have fun under the sun in Santa Monica, have a taste of Italy in Venice or walk the walks of Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor in Hollywood while youre in Los Angeles. San Francisco is another great city in America. There are lots of places to wander about like the famous Fishermans Wharf, the North Beach, Telegraph Hill or Chinatown. It is also home to the renowned Alcatraz Island, also known as The Rock, which is open for tours. California is also abundant with natural beauty. Take a walk at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, encounter the worlds tallest trees at Redwoods National and State Parks and be astonished while wandering around the Yosemite National Park.

Hawaii is a perfect destination for the whole family. Waikiki Beach in Honolulu is one of the most visited beaches in the world. Hanauma Bay in Oahu is a great summer getaway. Dont hesitate to try surfing on Oahus North Shore. In Maui, Hawaii, watch the beautiful sunrise atop Haleakala, a dormant volcano and enjoy the fascinating sceneries.
