Harris says ‘New - Very Comfortable - Friendly Inn.’
After a rather disappointing visit to Belize in 2013, we wanted to try again. I spent more time evaluating accommodation and this choice in Ladyville was excellent. It is close to the airport, restaurants and a store. They provided shuttle service as necessary to these. They also made recommendations for day trips to most of Belize. We made two of these day trips. Owners were extremely helpful.
Stayed with spouse - Recommended to friends and family
We had a wonderful vacation at the La Perla resort. It was family friendly, we traveled with 4 families total. The grounds felt very safe, clean, and well maintained. Be sure to rent a golf cart. It's a pretty far walk to the closest market.
We stayed in Villa Amber, a 2/2 beachfront villa. It was an amazingly beautiful, well appointed, extremely comfortable, perfectly clean and well kept villa! There were 4 separate a/c units in this particular villa, all new and in perfect working order. Kitchen appliances were all in good condition. I am a vrbo owner myself, and know full well how important it is to have good a/c and good mattresses in order for guests to have great sleeping conditions on the beach, and this villa met those requirements. The staff at La Perla, especially Alex, were spot on perfectly attentive, immediately responsive, extremely helpful and incredibly kind and caring to all our needs and endless questions. They even handled booking our excursions, even the last minute ones! Housekeeping came in every other day and put everything back into prestine order, it was lovely. We more than well taken care of, and honestly made to feel like we were their only guests. Could not be happier with La Perla Resort. We snorkeled twi
We have never been to Belize and decide to take our two college kids with us. We had plenty of room and the location of the house and view was spectacular. The staff was very friendly and overall felt very safe and at home here. This place is far north of town but very quiet and secluded. However the drive to town is really not that far( bumpy but not that far) do rent a golf cart. There is a grocery store close by that you can bike to but kinda far for a walk. Stores closer in town have more of a selection and probably little bit cheaper in price but for the convenience its great for local beer and snacks. the secret beach is only 30 min golf cart ride away.
This was our 5th trip to Belize and we decided to splurge on a beachfront home. We stayed in Villa Amber and I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe how amazing it was. Everything was perfect for us. From the location (away from town) to the property and home (spectacular) to the management company (very responsive). This was one of the best vacations I have have ever experienced. If you want to see what living in paradise would be like this is your home. There is no restaurant on site but we picked up groceries in town and did our own cooking in the well equipped kitchen or walked to several of the neighboring restaurants up and down the beach. It is important to note that Belize is a developing country before you go. Power was out on the island for about 20-hours the first day. These things happen. Roads are not like in the US. Internet can be spotty. Those things said, I absolutely plan to go back and stay at La Perla very soon.
