We had 10 adults and 9 kids stay here for four nights and we had a great time. The kitchen is massive with every imaginable cooking utensil and tool. There are two large eating tables that can seat at least 30 people (total) and lots of sitting areas for people as well. The rooms are huge with at least three beds per room (four in some), aside from the honeymoon suite (only one bed) and a downstairs room (only two beds). We didn't come close to using up all of the available beds so I imagine you could conceivably fit 25+ people here very comfortably.
The view is excellent, looking directly across the valley to the Fernie ski resort. The house itself is well-isolated from the town but only about 5 minutes from the downtown area. Be aware that the driveway is quite steep and, in winter, you'll definitely want snow tires to be able to confidently drive up to the house. The caretakers keep the drive plowed but continuous snow can present a problem for those without 4WD or snow tires.
We used the hot tub and pool table quite a bit. The kids loved to explore and play hide-and-seek in the house. Internet connection was suitably quick and wireless works pretty much in every corner of the house (better on the laptops than on iPods/iPads, though).
Parking room was abundant so you can truly bring a crowd and not be worried about having somewhere to put your vehicles.
The kids had a great time playing in the woods around the house. The hills are fairly steep but there's still plenty of exploring that can be done. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a day of skiing, comfortably seating three or four adults.
Disappointments were few and far between. There is only one TV in the house (in the main living room) and the channel selection was pretty mediocre. It'd be nice to have a better cable package and at least two or three TVs in the house. The rooms often have uncovered windows (ie, no curtains or blinds) so you don't get much protection from early morning (or late evening) light, which can lead to difficult or interrupted sleep for kids or light sleepers. The fit and finish in the house isn't exactly top notch - it's no luxury home - but ultimately, comfort and size mattered more to us and it definitely excelled there.
The house has in-floor radiant heating so it's tough to get the house to cool down in a hurry (you can open doors/windows), or heat up in a hurry (we found it a bit warm). Still, it's great having warm solid floors beneath you in the morning!
Would we come back? Absolutely! We immensely enjoyed our time and it's tough to find a place that can room and seat so many people without feeling cramped. The caretakers were friendly, communicative and punctual and the booking process was easy as well.
