This house was spacious with comfortable beds for those of you with sad backs. ADA toilet in downstairs bath but no grab bars. There is a house being built pretty close to the left and another house seen through the trees to the right. Building going on , wish it hadn't, but tolerable. The water very good for drinking. # bedrooms in house and by another entrance a studio with a comfortable double futon. Minor housekeeping issues with insects and spiders and webs. No kitchen towel, sponge or soap but we left some. House at the end of a long dirt road, good for dog walking. Lot is deep rather than wide but overall a good stay except for construction and that wasn't too bad.
When we arrived we were amazed the property looked just like it did in the photos down to the smallest detail! The view is beyond belief, the home was clean, well stocked and all we did was show up with groceries for the 4 days we stayed there. We enjoyed the porch's, played guitars around the fireplace, had terrific family dinners at the large dinning table, and even took the kayaks out on the water several times. Nearby Booth Bay provided a great day of shopping and lunch on our last day.
Mavooshen is a classic old Sprucewold log cabin. It is recently renovated to be clean and comfortable, but thankfully still retains that historic Maine charm from the age of the "Rusticators." If it had a view of the bay, it would be beyond perfect!
If anything the description of this studio was understated. The photographs look great, but they cannot quote capture the details that the owners obviously enjoyed creating.
First, the apartment is scrupulously clean. When a rental is “pet friendly,” as this one thankfully is, sometimes it can be obvious that there were earlier pet guests. We wouldn’t have know that we weren’t the first inhabitants; it was that clean.
Every need that crossed our minds was provided for. (And some things we didn’t even know we needed, like two kinds of olive oil and organic Egyptian Duqqa herb blend.) Amenities include organic cotton sheets with stratospheric thread counts. DKNY quilts. Cable television with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Ice maker. River stone lined shower. Steam convection oven. And, and, and...
Boothbay Harbor is refreshingly walkable, and The Coal Shack is central, but even so, the street is quiet at night.
The Coal Shack is really a wonderful way to pamper yourself without br
Ferndale is a beautiful and extremely well appointed home. The deck and screened in porch were very nice. Home was very clean and well maintained. The owners thought about everything a guest could want or need and provided it- including binoculars to watch the seals cavort in the water.
What a neat place to hang for a few days while in Boothharbor! The place was beautiful, the flowers outside on the deck were gorgeous, the walk to downtown was easy and fun, and so many great places to eat and enjoys the sights. Everything was clean and ready to go for us when we got there. I would recommend this place for a couple that has no handicaps. The only issue was the WIFI, they need a booster for it.
The rental unit was clean, location near all we wanted to tour, amenities provided to cook "at home" if we wanted to. Bed mattress was too high; the box spring was not needed. A grab bar should be in the shower as a safety feature, especially for those of us over 70.
Two families (4 adults/2 children) spent 3 nights while attending a destination wedding. The rental home worked very well for us. Home has been updated and furnishings were adequate. Only suggestions would be to add hair dryers to bathrooms and find a better way of marking the address roadside for people who arrive late at night.
The property it self is very nice, however it includes over 30 stairs down a long path to reach it. Making it very difficult for older people. I had two people who have limited mobility issues and could not make it down, we had to use the neighbors driveway and yard and as a result need to leave early from our stay because the neighbor told us they need to placed a gate chain for security purposes. I can only recommend this place for those whom are more in shape and younger. There needs to be more info on accessibility on the website
We enjoyed a very nice week at the home in boothbay harbor. The home was clean and comfortable and very convenient to downtown boothbay harbor. Dealing with Turnkey was very professional. The directions for internet access need to be updated as only the Netgear account could be used. The kitchen could use a toaster and the picture window, although beautiful for views, could use a shade for the late afternoon sun.
We enjoyed the home very much. In fact one day we choose to hang out like lazy cats. Doing nothing. This home has the perfect porches for lounging. Just down the road a most scenic view with access to the water. (If you dare to stand in the water). A very short ride to either side of Boothbay Harbor. Our ride to Rockland was not only scenic but we met many people who were completely pleasant company. We simply cannot wait to return.
We LOVED our stay at the chic studio cabin! It was super relaxing, clean and the perfect size for a couple for a romantic getaway! It is just as the pictures show. We will be going back next summer for sure!!
Location, location, location. We (2 families, each with 2 kids 10 and under) spent 4 days in Boothbay and the house made the trip a dream. We could walk to everything - dinner, coffee, ice cream, kayak rentals - and also relax in a beautiful and comfortable house. The owners did a phenomenal job decorating the house. They also thought of EVERYTHING to make our visit so easy. Well stocked basic necessities - coffee, tea, laundry detergent, etc We wiiyld definitely stay here again!
My family spent Labor Day weekend here. We were very happy with this site. It's just a bit off the beaten path, gut still very close to the tourist attractions and beaches in and near Boothbay and Wiscasset. Kayaking in the saltwater pond out back is convenient. Had I brought my own boat, I could have launched it at the boat ramp across the street. The general store at the corner is a lot of fun. Be sure to get in line by 8am on Sunday for their homemade donuts!
Our stay was very nice. We do feel that the cleaning fee of $95 is excessive however. It could in now way take more than an hour to clean for 99% of people. We also suggest that turnkey always leave a toilet cleaning brush and cleaner in the bathroom in the starter kit and we were supplied with one after we requested it. The situation we ran into with the battery dying in the entry door look which kept us locked out of our unit for 2 hours around midnight our last night was awful. A better system should be devised for replacement batteries. We do appreciate the refund of $250. we are promised. We will check our credit card bill.
