I loved my stay at Milimani Cottages in Usa River, TZ. Usa River is a small town not far from Arusha and is between Kilimanjaro airport and Arusha town. The cottages are very modern, exceedingly clean and have wonderful hot water for showers and a laundry room with modern machines. The beds are extra comfortable and covered by mosquito nets although with screens on all the windows, these are barely needed. The kitchen facilities are fabulous. The cottages have lovely verandas. The owner has become a dear friend. She was exceedingly helpful. I would recommend that people who stay at the cottages have their own vehicle (4 wheel drive in rainy season) or someone (perhaps a taxi driver) with a car with high clearance and perhaps 4 wheel drive as the cottages are 3 kilometers off the main road up a steep, bumpy road. Once you get there, the views are awesome and it is so peaceful and gorgeous....well worth the drive!Cost wise, the cottages are so reasonable for the comfort they provide.
