    Mary Lou says ‘Beautiful condo’
The condo is very well appointed and the owner is very receptive and provides good information re local places to eat. the property management company is also very good and responsive. There is a handy shuttle to the beach club however also very walkable.
The location is about 15 minutes from the centre and we took cabs to town. We went in September and it was very quiet so we felt it was a private villa. No one else at the pool and very few at the beach club. we loved it

My daughter and I truly enjoyed our stay here. The accommodations were beautiful, quiet, convenient, safe, and so comfortable. Our vacation was amazing. This property is close to a large shopping centre and you can flag a taxi just outside the property. Truly wonderful and I will be a return customer. Thank you so much to the homeowner, you made our experience so relaxing. :)

    William says ‘Very Nice!!!’
Stayed in this unit for 3 weeks in Jan and Feb, 2017 !! The unit is 2 stories with 2 bedrooms, one on the 1st fl and one on the 2nd floor! Both bedrooms were nice with the 1st fl one being larger! The view from the 2nd fl was great and we had a pleasant stay but beware that bathrooms are on the 1st fl only! Kitchen was very nice and well equipted! TV on both floors! Internet also was available most times!!The location is across the street from a large shopping ctr with a great supermarket, including a bakery and all of your food or drink needs! Bus service to town runs at least every 5 minutes and costs 65 pesos! All in all a very nice stay, Thank you!!!

    Hana says ‘Great Place!’
This was a wonderful place to stay! Close enough to do a full day of snorkeling at Akumal and then take a quick colectivo back. Delicious fresh fruit, jams and bread and whatnot for breakfast. Lovely location full of trees and plants to keep it cool. Spacious and clean rooms with screen porches. Yoga included on the mornings it is being taught. The owner was a lovely host. We had planned to stay for two nights but we came back for more on our way back up the coast.

Irene and Gerry says ‘Excellence Place to R&R’
We truly enjoy the stay and the view. Snorkeling in your own back yard. I saw so many birds, grey herons, orie, pelicans...sitting in the living room, without going to the bush.
All the restaurants are within walking distance...if you don't like the half-moon bay beach, you can walk to the Akumal beach...all free. Cancun is about an hour drive away if you decide to do heavy partying. But, Akumal has everything you ask for...really. We only went to Cancun once. Tulum is only 30 mins probably less from Akumal.
Maid service is everyday - very clean.
There is no AC but the sea breeze is cool enough for us.
I will Definitely will come back to stay.

Lloyd says ‘Villa Days are the best days’
A beautiful Villa with many great features. We were a group of 10 family members who stayed comfortable for most of our stay. The non master bedrooms could use bigger beds but we managed just fine as we were able to move some mattresses around to make it work for all that came. The onsite staff, a woman and her son, did an amazing job inside and out to make the stay even better.

There were dogs onsite that tended to bark when activity was happening in and out of the villa walls that, at times, interupted some as they slept but the security of knowing when something or someone was near was nice and we had zero issues otherwise. Very social happy dogs.

The air conditioned rooms was a HUGE plus and once we learned the limits of the hot water, everyone was happy to have that comfort as well.

Pool side were some of our favorite days. Very beautiful.

We will be back to the Villa again one day i am sure.

    Valerie says ‘Lovely Facility ’
Beautiful property on a nice stretch of beach on the quiet end of the hotel zone. Water is calm here, great for wading and children. Hotel has lots of lively activities throughout the day if you want to play and plenty of loungers around the pool and beach. The owner was very communicative and accommodating. The facility is older and well maintained but the walls are thin so you get noise from hallways, plumbing and mechanical equipment which could be an issue for light sleepers; as most notable from bedroom.

The location was perfect for a week's holiday - we had an excellent view of the beach and all the activities going on from our balcony.
Our room was clean. The maid changed the bed sheets and tidied the place daily. The air conditioning system was a plus.
The only thing that was lacking was a grocery store nearby - the one closest to us had very few items that we needed.
We had to catch the bus for our meals.

Alfred says ‘Paradise Beach and Snorkeling Resort.’
We have checked out most of the beach and snorkeling vacation places in the Caribbean from Florida to South America and came to the conclusion that Alkumal is the best place to go, especially from January til May (we have been in Akumal in March, May and September). The summer is too hot for us, especially if the condo has no air conditioning. The Halfmoon Bay area of Akumal is unique in it's seclusion, safety, access to a great protected bay as well as the Yalku Lagoon, both great for snorkeling but different in their experience (beautiful corals in the bay, more colorful fish in the lagoon).
The condo and the staff were excellent. We chose to spend our 50th "honeymoon" there this year. Great!
There is now a "Super Chedraui" supermarket at the entrance to Puerto Aventuras (ten minutes away) which makes shopping so much easier and lets you avoid having to go out for lunch or dinner all the time. Of course the culinary crown jewel of Halfmoon Bay is the mixed ceviche at "Buena Vida", a must. Advice: go into the bay at high water to avoid the sea urchins lurking under the rocks!

    Joan says ‘Disappointing beach’
I found the owners easy to communicate with as we made plans for our arrival. Upon our arrival, they gave us a most friendly welcome with beverages at the ready, a thorough tour of the property, and an orientation to the area. The on-site caretaker was also very accommodating.
We found, however, that the property was not as advertised. It is clearly not “newly built” as claimed. Many fixtures were corroded and badly in need of repair or replacement. The kitchen was adequately equipped, but not for serious cooks. The beach and water were covered with seaweed and trash, making the advertised “long walks” along the beach and swimming in the ocean impossible. While the presence of the seaweed is apparently a growing menace all over the Riviera Maya area and not something the owners can generally control, I recommend checking beach and water conditions before making plans. The odor coming from the seaweed the last two days of our visit was almost unbearable.
The air conditioners in the bedrooms functioned very well and allowed for a comfortable respite from the smell. The house was roomy enough for six with space to relax. The views from the back porch and upper sun deck are picture-perfect as depicted in the listing. The pool was a life saver. Our 3 star rating does not take into account the condition of the beach, particularly its smell. If the disappointing condition of the beach is included, we would give it a 1.
    Owner Comments
We really enjoyed hosting these guests, and found them to be delightful people. Unfortunately, lately we have been receiving an inordinate amount of kelp to the area beaches. It is NOT the norm, and it is NOT a menace. It is a necessary part of the echo system that replenishes the beaches the world over. These guests were here for only 5 nights, and it just so happened that alot of kelp floated in from the open ocean during their stay. However, there are 51 other weeks during the year, when we may have no kelp on the beaches. It is not harmful. You can walk thru it, and on it, and swim thru it a few feet to get to clear water. It won't hurt you. Nobody knows when it's going to float in, or how much, or when the waves will take it back out into the ocean current. It's common to see alot of kelp on the beach one morning, and the next morning it's gone, or it could float in for several days. So even if you did check a beach report before arriving ,it would be useless. Kelp and seaweed, randomly happen to every beach in the world. You never know which beach it will hit, or when.
Our plumbing fixtures, and cooking utensils, are replaced as needed throughout the year, and people don't come here to gourmet cook. Being located in a constant salt air environment does corrode fixtures much quicker than most places.
In closing, we always appreciate, and listen to our guests comments, and act accordingly in resolving issues. Nature on the other hand, has it's own agenda, and is not swayed by us..
