My Waikiki Vacation This property was just what I expected. I was fine with It being on the fourth with no elevator but others may not. It is advertised as such so that’s good. Neat, Clean, Efficient. Wonderful location. We loved this place and would stay again in a heartbeat. The design is very clever. A very good use of limited space. There is a set of pocket doors that enable an early riser to putter about the kitchen without disturbing the late sleeper. The location itself is just perfect, between the Ala Wai canal and the public area of Waikiki. We like to walk a lot, and there is no shortage of destinations from this spot. In the extreme, we walked to the top of Diamond Head one morning, and on another day, all the way around Diamond head. Walked to Magic Island twice (Ala Moana). Daily walks along the beach, of course. And along the canal in the evening, in the shade of the tall buildings. <br/><br/>Nearby is the famous and wonderful Kapi'olani Regional Park. Its tree-lined sidewalks are a great alternative to the sunny beach when your eyes and skin need a break.<br/><br/>Oh yeah, by the end of your stay you will have figured out how to pronounce many of the nearby place names. Lili'uokalani, for example, was rolling off our tongues by the last day. Response from Alii Beach Rentals ; Monday, November 25, 2019 Aloha and thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the condo in Waikiki and it was very functional, and in a perfect location – within walking distance to the beach, Diamond Head, and more! Royal Moana Condo Review Overall our rental experience was ok. When we arrived that evening our air conditioning was broken and it was extremely hot in the condo. The maintenance was gone for the day but they did show up the following day and actually replaced the A:C unit. The condo was quite old and in a rougher area of Waikiki. It worked for what we needed, sleep, shower, etc. I would stay somewhere else next time. Response from Alii Beach Rentals ; Monday, August 12, 2019 Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! Clean, convenient, well-equipped unit for perfect vacation Second time staying in a unit at the small Royal Moana building. It is comfortable, just big enough and well equipped with all you need for a great time in Waikiki. The price is outstanding and you get more than you expect to get. Linens were very nice, kitchen well-equipped, good TV's for entertainment. Happily there was still a view to the mountains as no buildings had been built adjacent to the building. The street in front can get a little noisy, but not all the time. A short walk gets you to the beach or just to promenade along the ocean. By all means rent the parking here if you have a car. Management was very responsive when I reported an issue which could wait until after my stay was over. I was pleased to find this unit in perfect condition, as I had experienced several years ago while staying here in a different unit. While there is no elevator, it proved no issue for me to get to the top floor. Response from Alii Beach Rentals ; Monday, March 11, 2019 Right on Timothy, sounds like you will be back and now that you have Alii Beach Rentals Rewards points from this stay, to accumulating them for free gifts!!

Royal Moana 401 This is a nice condo overall, with a few minor shortcomings. The biggest flaw was the 4 flights of stairs to get to it, so be ready for that. Shower could use a shelf/cubby to hold soap and shampoo, and the laundry area was dark. Location was nice, close walk to beach, shops, restaurants. Very clean, and nicely furnished. Response from Alii Beach Rentals ; Friday, November 2, 2018 Thanks for the opportunity to take care of you. Not a Bad Place to Stay We enjoy Waikiki about every other year from 10-15 days. If you&#x2019;re not use to stair climbing-be prepared. The location of the apartment was walkable to the beach & restaurants, if you don&#x2019;t mind walking a bit. The apartment is cute for two people-four people. Off the beaten path, where locals live. We like having a kitchen to store & refrigerate our foods. Remember to calculate taxes & the cleaning fee into your daily amount:). Response from Alii Beach Rentals ; Thursday, February 7, 2019 Thank you for this great review, we are not sure about the last part though? Not what we expected We arrived at midnight after flight delay & luggage left behind. After traveling all day we were very tired & the entry code to the condo would not work, so had to call the maintenance manager who eventually had to give us the master code to get in. The condo was not as nice as the pictures look, shoddy remodeling job, & the housekeeping had much to be desired, stained toilet seat, old bedding, not recently washed couch cover & pillows, towels need chlorine bleach, closet & <br/>furniture dusty. After using some Lysol cleaner we were able to at least get around the rest of the shortcomings & managed to have a good time. The positive things about the place - location to Waikiki Beach & everything and the <br/>little store next door were perfect! Just wished the place was cleaner & more welcoming. Response from Alii Beach Rentals ; Tuesday, April 11, 2017 If the cleaning was not up to par, we wish you would have called and we could have re-cleaned if needed. Great location, wouldn't call it elegant. Easy booking process and very good communications throughout the trip. The condo appeared to be well taken are of, however, it felt dated. It is a little inconvenient to not be able to run the air conditioning while you are away from the unit as it takes quite a while to cool it back down. The snorkel and beach equipment that we found there was in poor condition and I was unable to find a matching set of fins for my size, ended up not using it and rented gear. We were very disappointed as this was one reason we rented this place. Overall a decent place, but would not have rented it if I would known the snorkel gear was sub-par and the boogie boards are for kids!

Location great; place needs some attention Rented on 4th floor & stall. Best thing about condo is location. Easy walk to beach, zoo, shops, etc. Condo is for 4. Only 2 kitchen chairs, 1 wooden seat. Patio doors howl constantly from wind, don't open properly. Lots of hot water. Shower small, needs shelf. Area rugs should go; can't vacuum them. Broom, mop only provided; no other cleaning stuff. 3 large spoons only, no cereal bowls. Clean on surface but thorough cleaning is needed. A/C loud; constant on/off during night. Bed not attached to headboard. Boogie boards, beach chairs available in yard. Washer, dryer $1.50 load; worked well. Cleaners, maintenance staff park in guest stalls. Served our purpose. If location is most important to you, chose Royal Moana. Photos are when place was freshly done & staged. The refrigerator was clean. They provide a broom and dust pan for you when you have to clean up. They have all types of dishes and silverware. My rental provided us with two twin beds that pull out and a queen bed. There&#x2019;s a mini walk in closet that we settled in. There&#x2019;s a tv for the two twin beds and the main bed. The balcony is small but you have a view of the city around you and your about 3-5 minutes walking distances from the beach. The only unfortunate thing was walking up 4 flights to get there. One person in our party had a difficult time with that, but that was a personal need that we will think to research next time.<br/>Beyond that, Alii Beach Rentals was a delight to work with. They provided all information in a clear and timely manner.

Great place to stay! The location was perfect, kitchen had everything that you needed. There were lots of extras that would cost you $$$ if you had to buy then leave them... beach towels, sand buckets, snorkels(both kids and adult sizes) boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas. Laundry onsite and a locked courtyard was a very nice amenity to have. The only thing with staying on the 4th floor is the stair and lanai railing scared my with my 2 YO, I would have booked a lower unit if I was aware of that. But staying with three young kids we had plenty of room and loved our visit. If you rent a car, get the parking space!

Definitely middle-of-the-road My online and phone experience with Alii was quite positive. I was feeling very optimistic. Upon arrival, the unit was much smaller than it appears in photographs and I realize this is why there are no dimension in the description. The bed was quite old and uncomfortable to the point of having to sleep on the futon sleeper in the living room. The view/lanai is partially obstructed with a very low awning that blocks any view and a great deal of light. It seems entirely unfortunate because it would make the experience so much better without the obstructed view. When I offered this feedback to Alii about our discomfort with the bed they did not respond in any way. No email, phone call or any attempt to see if there was anything they could do. We also left several technical cables in the unit and no one from Alii contacted us for return. I was disappointed as I had such a positive experience with Alii prior to the arrival. I gave the review a 3 as I don't believe it's a bad place. The bed is not worth it but otherwise the unit would be fine if it were represented better in marketing. There were also unpleasant stains on the bedding which was slightly concerning. I think Alii could do better and honestly, they probably do. They just failed to respond to these things that could have made our stay better.

Property needs some TLC This condo needs some TLC. Location is ok, 4 blocks to the beach. I can't call it elegant. Very stained bed skirt, old linens with spots that don't come off anymore after being washed, flat pillows. The divider doors have scratches and huge dents. Some moisture damage all over the shelves on the fridge doors. If you are a budget traveler then you probably expect these things. Customer service is good, you get a reply pretty fast. But please don't advertise this unit as luxurious or elegant. Only about 2 stars. By the way, view is not good, you see piles of construction materials on the field next to the building, not exactly your tropical getaway views. Nothing to do on a balcony either, very noisy street, wont be able to enjoy your morning coffee. But you get what you pay for, right? But still, condo puctures are very misleading, it doesn't look like it in reality. Won't stay here again. Response from Alii Beach Rentals ; Tuesday, September 29, 2015 To potential guests who are reading this review... we don't filter our guest reviews which means every review we see you see. We think this is important so that you know exactly what you're renting and reviews are one of the best ways for you to accomplish this. Hopefully by this point you've read enough reviews about this property to get the true sense of what the Royal Moana rentals are like. We don't advertise this condo as having a pool, deck, ice machine, or elevator and we make sure everyone who wants to rent knows the location and how far the building is from the beach. For some people the hotel experience fits them better, but if you're reading this you probably know the value of a vacation rental over a hotel room. However thanks to this guest for their input... we'll always welcome it. ALOHA!!

It's very close to the beach and within walking distance to a good grocery store. It is equipped with everything you need. If it doesn't have it they will get it for you if it's a reasonable request. Price is good. Around $3300 a month is an appropriate rental feeas it does not offer the amenities and scenery as other condos have. It is on a very loud noisy street...but you get use to it after a few days. The patio doors whistles if it's closed all the way and windy so the door must be kept opened at night about 1/4" to stop the annoying whistling. Not really a patio on the front. It's very small and has too much street noise to enjoy it anyways. Cleaning staff very friendly. An upside was the screened windows gave a nice breeze through with the patio door open and the A/C was not necessary. A downside was the very high street noise, the ill-fitting patio door which gave a lot of wind noise when closed, and the noisy A/C if used with the windows closed. We enjoyed being on the side of the beach closest to Dianmond Head because it was a few blocks away from the very busy streets and yet very close to everything like the bus route, shopping, the beach and parks to walk in. Everything you would need was in the condo. We liked the fact that there were a few spices, cooking oil, sugar and coffee supplied so you didn't have to buy everything from scratch. The condo was very clean and although the building is older, the renos are nicely done. The overall feel of the place is good. There are several major hotels just down the street so it was easy for getting picked up by shuttles because they usually stop at the bigger hotels. The only down side was that the sofa bed was a little uncomfortable and the supply of bedding for it could've been a little better but nothing serious. The gardener was very friendly and helpful which gives you a good feeling.

We stayed on the top (4th) floor which meant we climbed a lot of stairs. Not a problem if you're in good shape. The bed wasn't the best, and the pillows definitely need to be replaced. Black out curtains would be nice as the room remained quite light from the street lights. It was a bit noisy, but that's to be expected when you're in a city and on the 4th floor. The neighbors on the corner obviously never left the sixties--very interesting!<br/><br/>NIce location, but next time I think I'd like a quieter, darker room and more comfortable bed.

I stayed here for 5 nights with my wife and daughter. The location was great, five minute walk to the beach and shopping. The amenities were great as well; the condo was stocked with plenty of towels and extra linens, multiple kitchen appliances and pots & pans to use for eating in (which saved us quite a bit of money). My wife did speak with Shelley briefly during our stay and said that she was extremely friendly and asked if there was anything that she could do to make our stay more enjoyable. The onsite laundry center was quite convenient as we had a lot of laundry with a three year old and multiple trips to the beach. Also, having a reserved parking spot in this area of Waikiki is a huge plus as traffic and parking can be a nightmare. The only negative was that there some little bugs (ants?) crawling around the kitchen counter, but even this was not a huge issue. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this location and will definately stay here again on future visits.

the ONLY problem i had was the little flies (fruit flies) they were in the sink, on the counter and the wall in the kitchen...when i opened my laptop on the bed, i seen one going across my screen, which made me fell like they were everywhere...

The photos that are displayed on their website are not what you are renting. There is no elevator on a 4 story bldg. The curtains were falling off the curtain rod. The airconditioner was placed directly in front of the dining table and the air blew in your eyes and face. There are many other places to stay in waikiki that offer more and for the same price. I could never reccomend thIs property.

We would rate the condo with a 5 thumbs up! There were 2 things that were drawbacks. The size of the &quot;lanai&quot; I would call it a ledge! Would have like to have had a blender, we have fruit and veggie smoothies for breakfast. Bought my own blender and brought it home, needed one anyway. <br/>Was worried about climbing the stairs at first, but then just looked at it as exercise and it got easier as time went one. Fortunately my grandson had no problem with them and was always eager to run down to the car for something.<br/>The kitchen was fully equiped, a shaper knife for carving a pineaple would have helped, but hey, no biggie. Loved the bathroom, plenty of towels. Plenty of space for putting our clothes away and stashing suitcases.<br/>The location was wonderful if you were staying In Waikiki, walking distances from anything you could possible want. I will definitely recommend to anyone interested. Will look you up again next year when we are coming to town.<br/>Mahalo and Aloha...Miss the pl

Our condo was exactly as it looks in the photos. The vacant lot adjoining the property was a disappointment since that was the view everytime we came or went up & down the stairs to our 4th floor accomodations. There were a few inconveniences: no drawers, poor quality linens, a tiny shower, and inadequate air conditioner. Street noise could get bothersome especially late at nite. Running the air helped drown out the noise. We had plenty of nice, fluffy bath towels and a couple of large beach towels. The sheets on the other hand were awful; they were so full of pill, it felt like we had sand in our bed. The drapery rod didn't work properly so we had to climb on a chair to "fix" the drapes occasionally. They are not lined so lots of light comes into the room (from street lights) which makes it hard to sleep. There was a bug problem (ants, maybe?) that was kinda gross- teeny little insects on the kitchen & bathroom counters. The greatest inconvenience was having to do without drawers of any kind. Our stay was good. Since we stayed on the top floor the stairs were a bit much. The kitchen and bathroom were very nice however the furniture, bed and drapes could use an upgrade. The manager Kai was very accomodating and always returned my calls quickly. It was a good stay.

We found damage to the unit such as drapes not pulling and part of the drapes were hanging off the rod. Mini woods were broken on the ends. Big whole in tile flooring. The furniture is very rickety and uncomfortabe. Not enough seating for 4 people comfortably and very poorly furnished. Could only watch TV from the bedroom. This unit just did not have comfortable amenities. We were in Hawaii for a month and this was the worst unit we stayed in. I would never refer this unit to another person. It certainly did not live up to the pictures on the internet.
