Perfect Weekend Away We stayed three nights at the Norris Cook House in May 2019. The house was perfect for two couples. Comfortable, cozy, convenient. We parked our vehicle upon arrival and walked the entire stay (with the exception of a short trip to Fort Pulaski/Tybee Island). The private park is very tight for a larger vehicle or SUV but we were able to squeeze inside the gate. The house is walking distance to River Street where we enjoyed browsing in and out of the shops/pubs. Broughton Street was great for shopping. City Market was fun for music and night life. Brunch is our favorite- B.Matthew's Eatery and Two Cracked Eggs are highly recommended. There was a local grocery just a few blocks from the house. There was more than we had time to do within walking distance. We highly recommend the Norris Cook House.

Norris Cook House We originally booked the Carriage House near Forsythe park because of location and no stairs. That was sold and we had to change to an available property. The House was very nice but we had an issue with the stairs. We had to go up stairs for the bedrooms and to use the washer & dryer.

Also the parking space had a gate that had to be opened and locked from the inside. Causing us to go down stairs and open the gate. Take out the car.,lock the gate. go back into the house, lock up the House and then go out with the car. The street is metered parking. For people with a difficulty with stairs this is a problem. We also preferred a location closer to Forsythe Park.
Lovely long weekend in Savannah Four high school friends met in Savannah for a celebration of our 60th birthdays. The Norris Cook house was in a great location. We parked our car and walked everywhere. It was close to restaurants, shopping and places we wanted to visit. The house was charming, nicely decorated and furnished, with a feel of history and substance. It also had all the comforts one would want, nice bathrooms and kitchens, comfortable beds. Perfect weekend home away from home. Response from Savannah Dream Vacations; Thursday, October 18, 2018 It was such a pleasure hosting you, Alisa! Thank you for the great feedback! Absolutely perfect! We stayed with another couple at this lovely home! It is so inviting. My husband and I are picky, we like a clean home, comfortable beds and good location. This home had it all! The home is decorated tastefully and loved the kitchen. The house faces one of the squares where the azaleas were in full bloom. The location is really not far from the sites. The management was so wonderful. Gitta and her husband were so helpful and kind. The home has all you need. This was our first time in Savannah, and it is a beautiful place. Everyone is so friendly too. We had a great time!

Perfect getaway for the weekend! The trip to Savannah for Mom's birthday was perfect, starting with the Norris Cook House! We loved the space it provided and the full kitchen for a light breakfast and coffee. The back patio is small, but having an enclosed parking spot is wonderful! Front porch was nice to sit in the afternoons and watch the carriages go by! We did not know the home is for sale, so at first sight, we were worried it may be shown while we were there. But no issues! Good location and value for two bedrooms and baths. Walking distance to many good restaurants, shops and attractions. A Port in a Storm Over all the stay was pretty good. Because we arrived a day before the tropical storm I felt like we were a bit neglected by the management. The A/C system had a hard time catching up for the first 24 hours of our stay. It was overcast so I can't imagine if the sun was out how long it would take. I recommend that the a/c system be turned on to cool the house prior to your guest's arrival.
Also the indoor plants were almost dead. I would recommend removing them or having someone care for them when the house is not rented. It gives an "uncared" for impression.
Other than the a/c the house is comfortable and it is a great location. The management did check on us to see if we had electricity but it was at 10:30 pm and it was really to gather information for another client.
The house is comfortable and the location is good with a few tweeks it could have been a fabulous stay.
Response from Savannah Dream Vacations; Tuesday, September 20, 2016 We are glad you found everything satisfactory, Jamie. We are dismayed to just now hear to that you felt neglected, as we sent our maintenance man over as soon as possible the day before the storm in 40 mile per hour winds to service your ac, which was turned on prior to your arrival. Thank you for notifying us about the house plants and we have notified the owner to rectify. We checked on various guests during the outages to make sure they were ok, as we ourselves were out of power for days. We would have gladly taken care of any concerns you had promptly if notified as that is why our phones are answered until 10 pm EST. We hope you will give us the chance to host you in a new construction and provide you with a five star stay next time, even during a Tropical Storm.

Great location to explore Savannah Comfortable accommodations in a great location. Most everything within walking distance. Kitchen well-equipped, nice shower with good water pressure, comfortable beds with quality linens provided. Wifi fairly strong and reliable. Only complaints would be: need for a better television, the one in the house is quite small and dated; need for a bose-type sound dock for iphones and such devices to play music; and there should be an on-street parking pass provided as part of the rental fee. Response from Savannah Dream Vacations; Tuesday, January 10, 2017 We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, Daniel, and found the home comfortable. We have passed your suggestions on to the property owner, and hopefully he will update the electronics. As off street parking is included with the rental of this home, we do not provide parking passes. Many properties, and apartments even in Savannah don't include Parking as a rule. We apologize for this being inconvenient. We hope you will return, and we look forward to providing you with a 5 star stay next time!

Great Place to Stay in Savannah We went to meet a couple for an annual weekend trip. The location of this rental is walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. Parking was no problem, as we were here for the weekend and MLK Holiday, so no charge for metered space. Our second vehicle fit nicely in the gated parking area on the property. The house is old, but the upkeep is excellent. The appliances look new, but we didn't cook at the house. There seemed to be plenty of cookware/dishes for us 4. I did have a problem getting onto the internet via WiFi, but not a big deal. Noise was not bad in the evenings, but more apparent than in the burbs. The Green Square across from us was so nice to sit on one of the many benches and enjoy the people with their dogs walking. Our car was conveniently parked behind the gates so we walked everywhere. Charming and Cozy - BUT left them know you need sofa bed linens We had a wonderful time in Savannah. This home was great for our family of 6. We loved that we could walk to everything.

Our only issue was that after driving all day from Illinois...we arrived late at night and went to prepare the sofa bed for our son to sleep on and there were no sofa bed linens in the house. We were able to quickly get a hold of the management company, and they supplied bedding the next day...we declined having them come that evening as it was past eleven and we just wanted to sleep. Later in the week we received an email from the owner of the management company who agreed to issue a partial credit for that night stay, per our request. Just want to let everyone know that you need to request bedding for the sofa bed...they only supplied bedding for 2 beds.

Overall, the home had everything we needed and again the location was fantastic. Our children loved the green space across the street to run around and burn their energy!

Felt like a rental This house was on the edge of the historic district on every trolley tour route u. The city. Great sunlight and charming at first appearance. But little things...not enough bath towel racks, counter space, and lousy kitchen organization and utensils marred the rental. The outdoor space was very tight and we were dismayed no windows could be opened, throughout. Porch furniture also "locked" on a cable and impossible to arrange to visit well. Good walking location but not a quiet, peaceful or very comfortable house. Beds good, however.

The Norris Cook House My husband and I made our first visit to Savannah and stayed at the Norris Cook House. The photos on the web site did not lie. The house was just lovely. The space was probably much more than the two of us needed but it was great having the extra space. It was indeed centrally located. We did not rent a car but opted to walk everywhere and we certainly did. We managed to see all 21 or 22 squares and wandered into several of the museums. The temps were quite high and it was humid but we made the best of things. Took lots of showers for sure. All in all everything was wonderful. We hope to come back in the future. Thank you for everything. Marsha was just great allowing us to extend our stay a little longer. Very much appreciated.

All our enquiries and problems were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The main bedroom could do with a larger wardrobe and the second bedroom would benefit from the washing machine and dryer being moved to the kitchen where there is plenty room. The house is in a good central location in the beautiful city of is easy ,even for us elderly folk to walk to most areas of the old city. The house itself is very comfortable and well appointed, with seating area in the small secluded garden which also has room for parking one car, very handy. We spent 7 very happy days in Savannah last week and would not hesitate to recommend this property and its management to everyone.

I had alot going on with my family coming in from around the country and it would have been nice to know what to expect. The location was perfect. When we arrived the house was very hot, no a/c on to make it at least a little comfortable. As luck would have it, we arrived earlier than planned, so we turned on the air and left until things cooled down. Conveniently located home, comfortable furniture and beds. We had a wonderful stay as we love old homes. Ate our way through Savannah. As advertised the heating and cooling is a little problematic. We arrived with temperatures in the twenties. Lower floor warmed up to only 61 while the upstairs was hot. After a weather warm-up, we could get it adjusted to reasonable temps. ISP slow and not very reliable but we didn't care. Had a great stay.

We loved the house. It was clean. I just felt it needed a little upkeep and TLC. It was in a good location, The kitchen was updated and stocked with plenty of things for cooking, eating, etc. The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious considering it is a historic home. Linens, towels and beds were high quality. It was calming when the morning sunlight came into the front windows of the home.We loved the front porch and back courtyard. The property management was average though. They were hard to reach and weren't super responsive. I was disappointed about that.

From the original enquiry, through booking, arrival to leaving at the end of our stay, everything was first class.

We absolutely loved our vacation. This makes the 3rd time visiting Savannah. The Norris Cook House was beautiful. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch in the mornings and late evenings watching the horses and carriages come by either going to City Market or back to the stables. The Green Square across from us was so nice to sit on one of the many benches and enjoy the people with their dogs walking. Our car was conveniently parked behind the gates so we walked everywhere. It was very easy to do because we were within walking distance of everything. The riverfront being only 3 blocks from the house was great. It was truly a Savannah vacation to remember because of where we chose to stay. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay in this fine home.

My husband and I made our first visit to Savannah and stayed at the Norris Cook House.

We had a wonderful time in Savannah.

I had to contact them the night before I left to find out what to do. If we hadn't arrived early we would have had a hard time going to bed upstairs in the heat.
