Awesome experience We enjoyed staying at GC last weekend. Staffs were super friendly and checked in with us every now and then to see if we needed anything. Great amenities and well maintained properties. Private bathrooms were clean. Kids had a great time playing basketball, volley ball, table tennis, and all the water activities. Since the crowd was small, we didn’t have to wait for kayaks or paddle boat. Overall, an awesome experience. We will definitely make this our annual glamping spot.

Staying in a tipi Upon arrival, we were very excited. Once we walked through the camp, we were a bit disappointed in the condition of the property. The sand volleyball pit was not in great shape and the grass was quite tall all around the creek area. The kayaks were very fun and so was the rope swing. The rope swing area to climb out could use a few more mats for traction. A few more water activities would be nice to have around the creek. The dishes in our tipi still had remaining water in them that had a pungent smell. Our bathroom had hair in the shower still. There was also a huge hole cut in the wall. We had a fun time. It’s just that the pictures of Geronimo led us to think the property was in better condition than it was. Also, the hot tub was closed which wasn’t a huge deal, but having a heads up would’ve been nice. The staff was all kind, but didn’t see them until the morning we were leaving. I think next time we will try the Sons River Ranch.

To expensive for the experience Overall we found the concept for the retreat interesting but too pricey for the experience. We had multiple cockroaches in our room and found the external bathrooms just okay and not satisfactory for the extra cleaning charge you will be surprised with. We also found the checkin process confusing which lead to anxiety because there is no onsite management office to help you out. Burnt out light bulbs and a drained hottub give you the feel that the property is not well maintained...bring your own firewood.

Great place for a quick getaway! Our mini vacation was the week after the winter storm that froze over most of Texas. We were concerned about the condition of the Retreat as far as burst pipes, but we had nothing to worry about! The teepee and personal bathroom were in perfect condition. Sanitation was also a big priority for our family and seems to be for Geronimo as well; everything was clean. We had an issue using the code lock on the bathroom door upon arrival. Kaitlyn, management personnel, arrived within a few minutes and had maintenance replace the lock within the hour. She gave us her personal number to reach her any time for any issues.
It was a very pleasant stay at Geronimo. We enjoyed all of the amenities included in our stay and will definitely be back soon!

Unique You have to be super quiet when staying in the teepees you can literally hear everything going on from your neighbors beside you and they can hear what’s going on in your teepee too. The creek looks bigger in pictures not as big in person you can’t kayak in that tiny creek. The hot tub was dirty they had socks inside of their all bundled up. The bed we got there it was soaking wet but they did replace it right away and with the staff is super friendly. I think it was a little bit overpriced I was expecting much more . However the staff was super nice even though they came at 2 AM and told us to keep it down and we were just laughing playing dominoes didn’t even have music on or anything.

Grandkids Trip We loved the teepees. They were quite nice and stayed cool. The kids enjoyed playing in the water until three of the 5 got cuts in the stock tank. They enjoyed the kayaks and rope at the creek. I know there had been more rain than normal but the condition of the stock tank was lacking. I hope that in a normal year, the water is clearer and the grounds better kept. fishing if swimming is allowed in the stock tank and creek...dangerous conditions. I picked up several lures from around the tank and creek. The pictures and description of the property, especially the water, was very misleading. There did not seem to be any mgt on site. We did have contact with maintenance who stated there wasn't anything alive in the stock tank...really? We saw what one would expect...fish, turtles, and snakes. Why would he say there was nothing alive? The kids did enjoyed the game room.

Good, but not great. The tipi itself and the bathrooms were fine, and quite fun honestly. The pictures on the website are extremely misleading about the location of the tipi and the other accommodations. The water in the creek was disgusting...there was not any flow and it was essentially stagnant. Limited water vessels and TINY game room. Hot tub was also not working. Overall, over priced but it was a fun experience for the kids.

Teepee retreat has potential but was filthy I was very excited to take my family on this glamping experience. I have two boys ages 6 and 3 and we chose to glamp, to make things a little easier with small children. I believe we paid $269/night with a minimum of 3 nights and a cleaning fee. Because of the high rate and cleaning fee, I expected the teepee to be clean. Upon arrival, I personally swept up a huge pile of hair, dust bunnies, dirt and 2 dead roaches. The Bathroom was equally disgusting. I didn’t want to sleep on the bedding because there were beds that obviously had not been washed. The fuzzy pillows/blankets and bed spreads most likely have never been washed. I couldn’t sleep at night because the live roaches came out in the dark. I was ready to get home from day one. I hate to leave a review like this, but the rates need to be lowered if this is the experience that is being sold.

September Getaway We had a great experience. We traveled with another couple and three 10 year old girls. They had an absolute blast. The outdoor activities made it for them. Hot tub, rope swing, paddle boarding and swimming. We grilled at night with s'mores and hamburgers. Drove to Gruene Hall one afternoon, it's only 15 miles away and walked the town. The only negative were the feral cats around our campsite...they seemed to really like our camp we hosted 5 the entire trip. I would have preferred none. Other than that the trip was a success. Penny the property manager was very hospitable she came by Friday night to check on us and we saw her thru out our stay, nice lady.

Perfect Weekend get a way It's hard to believe this Tipi fits three queen sized beds but it does. The AC works perfectly. There are lamps that can charge your toys. The fire pit and BBQ pits are just outside your tipi. The bathroom and showers are not too far away and you can relax outside while admiring the small lake in the evenings.
For suggested improvements, I would suggest mgmt consider upgrading the coffee maker in unit #3 - way too slow (~15 minutes) for a pot of coffee. Perhaps you can add a small dinning table inside the tipi. It does rain in Texas :). Ramps on both sides of the shower areas so handicap folks don't have to go extra steps to get to their cars. Access to either a ice machine or ice cube tray in the freezer. Lastly, add support bars to the mini fridge.

Will not be booking here again When we arrived and walked up to the tipi it smelled like mildew. It was even worse when we walked in. Everything felt damp and it smelled awful. Rugs and bed throws felt and looked dirty and they were. We watched a lady go clean a tipi one morning to prepare it for the next family. It took her all about 15 mins. We never saw her take in clean sheets, bedding, or use her mop she had in her cart. Thankfully I always pack sheets and blankets. The bathroom shower was disgusting. There was hair and mud on the wall of the shower. If it was cleaned before we arrived someone did a very poor job. As,the pond in front of thr tipis it was covered in some green algae, nobody used that area. There's a bowling alley that is right behind the tipi/bathrooms, you can hear screaming and pins falling down. The family next to us had a hard time putting their toddler to sleep because of the noise. We spent some time in the game room and it was also dirty. There was left over food on the floor and most of the games had missing pieces. NOT at all like in the pictures. The hot tub is itty bitty and the toddlers keep it occupied during the day. Once you get to the creek the kayaks are hard to come by, so if you have your own take them with you. There was probably only 5 or 6 on the property. I traveled with 4 kids ages 6,9,14, and 18 they enjoyed the time on the kayaks and the swing ropes. I would defiantly not recommend this place for a family getaway. Very disappointed wish I would have visited the property before booking it.

Glamping to the Max! This was as described and then some! I was worried because I read some reviews about cleanliness and when we arrived (right at check-in) our tipi was clean, but the bathroom hadn't been cleaned yet but the cleaning crew was on the property and got to it within the hour that we arrived. The location was super easy to get to and I was surprised at the facility offering even towels! We enjoyed the creek, but it was super cold so we hung out on one of the many hammocks available for use on the property. I think our only issue was having firewood for our fire pit in front of the tipi, but we found some down the road and were able to enjoy the night time with a cozy fire. I was surprised at how big the tipi was on the inside! We took a drive and ate at the Gristmill in Gruene and it was overall a great little surprise getaway for my husband's birthday. He loves camping and I do not, so this was a great little compromise for us.

Except the bigger 4 cabins (tree houses) that has 1 BR and 1 BA. The facilities is right by the river, they provided kayaks, pedal boards, life vests, etc. All included. There are also rope swing to jump to the river, and my children loves to jump out of the trees to the river as well. So much fun!! Non-responsive management The whole point of tipi "clamping" is to have normal everyday functionality all the while camping. We had informed the management person on-site that lights outside were not working. The pathway to the restroom areas were not lit. We had a party of 5, with 3 children that could not see where they were going. She told us someone would be here to fix in the morning(we checked in on Friday afternoon). So Saturday comes along and we get told, "ohhh nobody will be out until Monday." NICE, kinda moot since we check out on Sunday at 11 AM. The lady on-site gave us a small lantern that was small as a coke can for us to see with. We had our own headlamps but for preschool age children not always the most effective.

The restrooms were clean & nice as well! Will definitely be back!

MiMi's Adventure We ended up having a wonderful time, but the web-site pictures need to be updated. Our first impression was the pond by the Tee-Pee's and it was stagnant and ugly. It needs to be aerated or more water pumped in so can be used for more recreation. The game room and hot tub were closed (because of Covid I'm pretty sure) and the life jackets were sparse. BUT, the TeePee and bathroom were very clean and exactly what the pictures showed. My grandkids ended up loving it, but first impression was kind of a shock.

So we knew that wasn’t cleaned.
Also, the shower curtain with the rail was not put on and was broken just placed on the side. We had to shower without a curtain. Poor Cleanliness -Not impressed I was really disappointed with our stay. The teepee we stayed at was very dirty (floor wasn't swept, cigarette butts on front door steps, bathroom floor dirty). The property itself is in desperate need of renovation and i think the photos are false advertising. Our bathroom had a huge hole in the drywall, cheap smelly handsoap, and a soap dish written with permanent marker 'USE SOAP". The only redeeming quality for this property was the creek and kayak/paddleboard rentals. Tubing was closed this weekend so we were able to use the creek to swim in. We would not recommend this property and are glad we only booked a night. I think it was way overpriced and a big disappointment.

Air did not work well in one of the 3 Tipi's we rented the first day so we called - they came right away and their answer was to turn it off for an hour and then turn back on (it was 100 outside). The television in game room did not work so while part of our party was playing darts and other were playing ping pong the others sat on the couch and looked at a blank tv that would not work. The pitfalls are the "game room" is NOT updated or taken care of, the firewood was cut into such big chunks that it was impossible to move, the "historic" bowling alley is located about ten steps from the tipis which isn't all bad if you like the background sound of bowling balls and pins. They look like a traditional tipi from the outside but inside they are fully furnished and have all the conveniences of modern day living including air conditioning, heating, basic satellite TV, kitchenette with sink, under-counter refrigerator, stove top and extra large toaster oven. Each Tipi comes with its own private bathroom with a large walk in tiled shower. The bathroom is located in a separate building, all of the tipis have their own private bathroom.

This property is an oasis of peace and fun nestled in the pecan trees overlooking a babbling creek in the heart of nature and on the edge of Texas Hill Country. We also have 4 tree-house cabins (1 bedroom with a loft) on the property and a 3 bedroom house for rent.

Do you long to swim and fish in the creek like you were a kid again Want to throw some horseshoes or drink a cold one while you chill out in a lawn chair enjoying the feel of warm Texas sunshine on your face Envision your own cozy tipi with plush furniture, fully equipped kitchenette, private bathroom and gorgeous view, not to mention BBQ pit for grilling, picnic table and fire pit for chatting or just relaxing with your friends and family. Imagine escaping from the real world for a while.

The retreat also has a community game room with big screen TV, ping pong table and a large covered area with picnic tables and a community hot tub. The creek has excellent fishing. We have a dock with kayaks and kayaks for guests use. We also keep tubes, lawn and lounge chairs, and life jackets for your convenience.
