Spring Break We ran away for spring break as homeschool doesn't follow traditional timelines. The teepee was PERFECT. In fact, having stayed int he cabins previous, we loved the teepees more. I do wish they weren't so much more expensive. However, the location and acommodations are wonderful. Please do consider adding fire extinguishers in the teepee area. I'm a first responder and my kids were confused on that one. We'll be back!!

Disappointed Overall this was a very disappointing stay. The pictures online and advertisement are deceiving! From the minute we got to the property to the moment we left we did not feel welcome. Being our first visit we were lost and had no idea where to go or park. Its not secure meaning anyone can just walk on the property at any time. The process for check in extremely unorganized and uninviting! The property amenities are not as great as they seem on the advertisement. Restrooms are covered in black mold. Sprinklers were running during the day making some amenities not accessible. The cleanliness of the game room was disgusting! As a first time guest it definitely would have been a better stay with more instruction on property rules or even guidance on the stay. The time frame of check in and check out is definitely not worth the pricey nightly rate, you could definitely "glamp" some where better!

Weekend Birthday Getaway My family rented 3 Teepees and 2 Cabins. The teepees look small from the outside but are very roomy inside. Mine had 2 beds and sleeper safe. Sleeps 6 ppl comfortably. We didn't mind that private bathrooms were located behind the teepee. It gave it the feel that your out camping (what it should feel like). We didn't mind the raccoons and armadillo that came out to play at night, we took pics of them. The stock pond in front was a nice view to sit out in the early morning and drink coffee. The creek was quiet and relaxing while you kayak down. Wish it was longer but we had fun anyway. The game room was fun but a bit hot, could be all the going in and out from people or because there were too many people inside at once. We still had fun though playing pool, ping pong and Foosball. The only negative things I have to say are 2 out of the 3 teepees we rented were missing the grates from on top of the huge bbq pits. Also upon arrival every guest including ourselves were having trouble accessing the rental units because the codes in email were not working. This was quickly corrected though by calling office. The rental agreement states No Pets but I saw several pets on site. Policy didn't seem enforced. This was upsetting because I wanted to bring along our family pet but I didn't want to break the rental agreement, so I made arrangements for a sitter. My dog would have had such fun. Also random people would come on site and use the kayaks which made it difficult for the actual guests to use them. Not sure if this was allowed either. Glad my brother owns several kayaks so we had our own to use the entire stay but other guests couldn't access them. I know it's a camp site but the grounds could use some cleaning and maintenance. There were some broken furniture and trash around an rv that was on the grounds. Overall , it is a campground and we loved how peaceful and relaxing our stay was. Definitely looking forward to returning soon.

Great Potential This place seems like it has a lot of potential but needs some serious maintenance and clean up. The actual teepee itself was clean and beautiful but it went downhill quickly as soon as you stepped out of the door. There was trash (both from guests and old lawn furniture and tires, etc.) everywhere. The minimal kayaks, paddle board and floats were really old and just left out floating away in the water, and the bathroom had mold on the ceiling and just felt damp and gross. I think it would be a really nice place to stay with some outdoor clean up, better signage or directions for the kayaks/tubes/paddle board, and bathroom ventilation, otherwise it is definitely not worth the price.

2022 SFHS Soccer Retreat We were extremely pleased with the property and all it had to offer. Our group of boys stayed in the teepees and the coaches and parents rented treehouses and glamping cabins. The boys had a blast! They were able to swim, kayak, play basketball, air hockey, pool, volleyball, ping pong, horseshoes, and corn hole together. The rooms were warm when it was cold out and the ac worked great for the warm days. Beds were super comfortable and ready for sleeping and towels were also provided. We built campfires in the huge firepits provided. The entire group was able to eat together at the picnic tables while enjoying the beautiful view from the treehouse porches. So many great memories made!! We already want to go again!! Thank you Amber and Tate for your hospitality!

Good stay, needs some TLC Nice experience overall. The property is worn out and needs to be improved. Rooms are pricey and you are asked to clean the dishes, the grills, and remove the blankets. Why do they charge a cleaning fee? It looks like a rip off. The platform to get to the creek was dirty, there are broken sprinklers spewing water non stop, there was a rotten smell in the tipi area (septic tank?). Will not return.

Fun but really loud My husband and 9 year old son stayed for 3 nights in the tipi. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay; the grounds are well kept and there is a lot to do. We loved kayaking in the creek and fishing in the pond. The night manager was very friendly and gave us lots of interesting information about the flora and fauna. <br/><br/>I read a lot of reviews before booking this place and can't believe none of them mentioned the bowling alley noise. the tipis back up to a very cool, 100 year old bowling alley. Unfortunately, from 5-10pm you hear the crash of pins every few minutes. From inside the tipi it sounded like thunder but it definitely took away from our relaxing around the campfire. <br/><br/>The kitchenette is very small and much of the counter space is unusable due to the slope of the walls. The dishes and utensils were dirty and sparse. The teflon on the pans were all scratched and it took a long time to heat anything on the hot plate/stove top. I would recommend bringing your own cookware and planning most of your meals over the grill.

Having the small pond in front if the Teepee's provided a perfect and safe fishing experience for the little guy and having the option of playing volleyball or enjoying the game room was nice. The personalized camp area at each teepee is great! We had a relaxing hammock swing and the fire pit was huge and provided the perfect area for not only a nice fire to enjoy but we were able to cook dinner over the grates that slid over the fire. I have had better times there. Couldn't check in because the room was so messy it wasn't ready until almost 4:30. The door code didn't work so that took more time away from enjoying myself and having time with my children. Poison ivy was all around the front door of our teepee. It was literally growing into the entrance. Bbq pit was left full of the previous persons mess. Trash littered the area around our teepee. The fold out couch was full of dirt and hair. Couldn't use it.

Lots of Potential, But... The river/creek is great, and my kids loved the rope swing. The Teepee itself was very clean, as was the bathroom. Guests are asked to clean their own dishes/silverware so I found a dirty used set of tongs in the drawer. During COVID, I&#x2019;d feel better about having professionals clean things instead of relying on guests. We brought our own plates, silverware, etc. Would have liked to see a new sponge at the sink, as well. Beds were comfy but I suggest bringing own pillows. <br/><br/>The grounds and general facility upkeep are in need of attention. Broken oars, stagnant, non-maintained pond, mud, rusted out grill and fire pit, broken furniture&#x2014;these took away from our enjoyment and overall impression of the place. I think some on-site crew would really help, as this place is really not maximizing its potential. This said, my young boys noticed none of these flaws and had a great time. <br/>

July 19, 20 & 21 2016 Overall, a good experience. The kids really loved their time here. Great concept! Tipi is located beside a small pond with lots of perch to catch. The creek, playground and commons area are located about 100 +/- yards away. Upon arrival, everything in the tipi seemed clean and well kept. When getting ready to leave, we noticed that the plumbing for the sink in our tipi was broken. The a/c had trouble keeping the room cool. A fan was already in place to help circulate air. Tip for the management, rinse your outside cooling units, they are so dirty no wonder your a/c cant keep up & you have to warn people about them freezing up. The bathroom was clean but had a weird smell. The floor was starting to rot just outside the shower... watch your step!!<br/>As stated earlier, overall a good experience. Probably will not be back to a tipi, maybe a tree house next time.

Cute but not Glamorous I stayed here with 4 girl friends for a glamping weekend. It is not true glamping, but it is cute for a weekend away. It's definitely better than camping, but not actually glamorous. Property was well maintained. They did not provide firewood as stated on the website. They provided huge logs that needed splitting to be usable, so bring your axe. There are 7 or 8 cats that roam the property and beg for food, so if you're allergic, bring your meds. The floors of the tipi are filthy but everything else seemed clean. The pullout couch mattress has a large stain on it, but if you're not using it, you're good. Also, the sheets smelled like bleach so they were obviously clean. There was a 2 inch gap under the door where any bugs and small creatures can get in, so you might bring some bug spray and something to block the gap. The hot tub had peeling paint and the water was murky, but if you go at night after a few drinks, you won't notice. To be clear, the bathroom is not attached to your tipi. It's a separate building you have to walk to. It's not super far but it's dark and wet at night. Definitely bring flashlights and extra batteries! The fire pit was very enjoyable once we bought firewood from Home Depot, which is very conveniently located 5 minutes down the road. All in all, my expectations were possibly set too high. I had an amazing girls weekend despite everything and I'll know what to expect next time!

Sub Par Tipi Experience The tipi was a neat experience. The air conditioner / heat was not working. We alerted the property manager at 6:15pm the day of check in. We were told someone would come out shortly to check on it. Had to call back almost 2 hours later to find out they had called a few people and weren't having any luck. Finally made it out there around lunch the next day. They did not fix it. That night we needed heat. Was almost too cold in there to have our 9 month old baby. I feel they should at least supply paper towels. The water in the tipi only got lukewarm. Not all of the dishes were not clean when we arrived. Had to clean what we needed to use. And the bedding had an old odor. May be time to replace with fresh bedding. <br/>I am not one to complain often but in this situation I feel we should have been offered some monetary discount or such being that we could not move tipis and they could / did not fix the air / heat situation.

Having kids who needed to potty in the middle of the night, it was a bit annoying walking to the private bathrooms as they are not located behind Tipi 4. All of the other tepee's have nice gravel walk-ways, but Tipi 4 is the farthest away and you have to walk through wet grass or in front of the other tepee's to get to the restrooms. We were also disappointed in the "stocked" pond. My son had five poles going at one time for 2.5 days and only caught one little fish. He used a variety of lures and bait and different depths of line, but left a frustrated boy. Besides those two negatives, we had a relaxing and fun Easter break.

Maybe the housekeepers need to check to be sure previous occupants leave the dishes really clean! The game room would have been nice if there would have been ANY balls and enough unbroken paddles for the ping pong table, ANY pucks for the shuffleboard table, and if all the balls for the pool table had been there. The tipi was a neat experience.

I stayed here with 4 girl friends for a glamping weekend. It's a separate buildi

The grandchildren ages 5 the 11 had a blast. The complimentary paddle boards, hydro bike, kayaks is what I liked because that was a savings in rental equipment. The rope swings were well used and worn them out to give grandma a break. We used the fire pit to roast drivers and make smores, it was a good time and a memory my grandkids will have being with their grandmother.

Stayed in Tipi #4 which was great location. Bathroom was in building right in back of tipi. Front had view of water and in sun. Back was shaded. Plenty of seating. Be sure to take firewood & charcoal as store was out of it. There were a couple kayaks and floats which we were able to use. Location of Geronimo Creek is great. Close to New Braunfels, San Antonio & San Marcos. Thank you for a GREAT getaway vacation!!

Overall, a good experience.

This place was lots of fun. Teepee was very spacious and clean. We did have an issue with a fan not working and a leak in kitchen sink, property management came in right away to correct issue. Game room was spacious, very cool for a hot July day, along with full frig. We enjoyed the creek, swimming, kayaking, pedal boats, rope swing, fishing. We had a multi Family Vacation of 15 people, there was something to do for everyone. Great place to spend some quality time with family and friends. We had an awesome time.

It was ok. Interesting to spend some time in a teepee. The river and seeing were think to play in. Lots of wood cats around and not a very big place. Probably best for families with younger kids that are very good swimmers. My kids loved it.

It made for a great family get away! i have a 10, 7 and a 5 year old and each of them had a blast! Family was never bored with kayaking, basketball, game room, campfire and bbq picnic fun. The accommodations in the tipi were very comfortable, clean and convenient. I would def recommend going to the grocery store to get food to bbq, a quick start fire log and lighter fluid before hand. The rental provides everything you need! very great family getaway never had to leave the retreat!

We had a very nice stay at the tipis at Geronimo Creek despite the recent flooding. Accommodations were clean and there was plenty of chairs, fire pits, etc. The one complaint I have is that the hot tub was not functional. This was disappointing being that it was the one feature I searched for when looking for a place. I even emailed for assistance, but never heard back. If you're looking for a place with a hot tub, call first and make sure its working.

Geronimo Creek retreat was an unexpected little paradise! Just what me and my family needed to get away from the city without having to spend all of our time driving or flying somewhere. It is truly camping at its finest! The tipis were so comfy and cozy and if you forgot anything at home they had it there already. This place drew us to the outdoors again. The kayaks, the swimming, the campfires and fishing were just what we needed. Even having the restroom separate kind of threw us off at first, but after we got settled in it made me feel like the days when I was little camping with my family in the woods, yet walking to a nice air conditioned private restroom with all amenities was awesome! We can't wait to come back!

We drove down from Dallas to spend 2 nights in the Soaring Eagle tipi. It was fantastic. The property itself is gorgeous. The creek access is great. Good swimming, good kayaking. The tipis were the only cool part bout the trip. The creek's water looked still and dirty. The crystal blue pond in the photos has a dye in it that makes it look nice. Nice for the sight but no practicality, since I deemed it unfit for swimming. The flood lights outside were all not working with the exception of two. Finally, I was forced to check out a day sooner than I anticipated (this was my mistake). However, even tho there was confusion, a misunderstanding bout the reservation, the "resort" Upkeep was displeasing to be say the least, but never did I get a courtesy call or an extra night. The first night fell on us too soon and we couldn't gather firewood in time and it was too dark. Eh, I think it was a good experience for some part but I would never go back especially for the price tag of staying. Sorry I'm all over the place but I didn't know where to begin.

The area is beautiful where its located right next to Geronimo creek. Every morning, and I get up early, I saw at least 10-15 deer, and a bobcat just across the fence separating us from private property, you could also hear a flock of turkey gobbling around dawn every day.
