Beautiful Gateway Cabin/treehouse
It was an amazing, relaxing vacation for us! We had the best view from cabin 6 and good parking right below. Some cabins had to park in close parking lot. The creek was never full of people. Sometimes we had the creek all to ourselves! Our personal bathroom/shower was right across the lawn from us. But it’s camping, so no complaints there. I am pregnant so I could not do much but my kids loved the paddle boarding, kayaks and ropes swing. The gameroom is a good place for the kids especially if you need your quiet time. Just be mindful of raccoons. Keep food in cabin or bring a tote. They
mainly went through the trashcan down below. I would recommend throwing
Trash in dumpster to avoid a mess. Everything was amazing♥️ Next time ,
We want to stay in the treehouse by the lake. It has two cabins next to eachother for two big families to stay in. Book in advance because they go quickly!!! I would definitely recommend this place. It is perfect for a family trip or even a friends trip.

Worth it !!!
The room was better and bigger than I expected, the restroom was clean , the other guest were lovely enjoyed their company . And the property manger amber was nice also she gave us here card in case any questions . I booked the cabin to get out of the city for my 22nd birthday and I didn’t regret any of it . I love how I could park directly in front of the cabin instead of steady walking . Only small problem I had was that me and friend rounded up all the kayaks that kids let drift away and the staff from son’s Geronimo was very rude and telling their residents that we are the ones “stealing “ their kayaks , they need somebody to let residents know who kayaks is who’s and how to properly return them to the dock cause I didn’t get one thanks for helping them

Way over priced
The bathroom in our cabin was out of order. We only chose the cabin because the restroom was attached, otherwise we would of stayed in a teepee. The creek was very brushy and stagnant. The map on the website looks a lot bigger than in person and the photos are clearly edited to make the property more enticing. All of the available equipment is very worn including all of the games in the game room, ping pong paddles were shredded, pool table was in level and there is no chalk for the sticks, they were doing some kind of plumbing work which made the entire property smell like a septic tank. They clearly do not reinvest any money back into the property. Definitely not worth the price.

This place has large potential, but do to poor management and lack of drive it is sub par. The website alluded to each tent having its own shower room, but they did not. Each room was to have a toilet, but they were out of service. So we paid hotel rates for a tents stay. The rooms were nice. The drains from each room definitely need a main drain instead of draining back under the rooms. It was a giant mud hole except the one with concrete under it. They all need concrete and some sort of non muddy stepping stones or sidewalk to the steps. Also a water hose at the bottom of the steps would be nice to wash stuff down. As I said this place has potential to be awesome, y’all just need the drive to get there!

We enjoyed the cabin and adventure however there were a few things we didn't care for. It would have been nice to know the restroom situation ahead. Our cabin had the attached toilet taped down with duck tape with a note stating a $200 fine if used. It was raining most of the time we were there so we had to walk all the way to the shared restroom in the rain (highly inconvenient at 2am in the morning) The cabins were nice but the restroom situation was definitely a negative. The restroom shower situation was not ideal as they were all shared. We were in cabin 6 and if restroom 6 was assigned to our cabin, no one followed that rule. We did use restroom 6 but the water was beyond. Couldn't even finish my shower.
Not sure if someone used the toilet in their cabin but there was a sewages smell or something to the sort around the cabins.
Someone coming around and cleaning the property waterfront would have been nice. Wish it wasn't necessary but on the waterfront people would just leave their trash, clothes, stuff around and there wasn't anyone cleaning up to keep the waterfront clean and kept. We stayed 3 days and 2 nights and there were things that were there from the minute we arrived to when we left.
People wouldn't dock the kayaks after use so they floated up the river with no way to retrieve them unless someone swam and picked them up. Which made it frustrating for us that kept up with our things and kayaks while others weren't.
Our neighbor in the cabin next door decided to have a party until 4am in the morning.
Overall review, nice cabin but won't be back due to the lack of upkeep at the waterfront & toilet situation.

Recent Weekend Getaway Cabun
Majority of the property was great! Lots of fun things to do on around the property and visit nearby Gruene downtown and make sure to stop by The Grapevine winery. I only Hve two complaints but it's not about the quality of the cabin.
There are four bathrooms that I could see, for the getaway cabins. During "peaktime" there would be people waiting vin line to use the bathroom so I would definitely recommend more toilets to match the ratio of how many guests per cabin there could be, especially during peak season. Other complaint is parking. Only cabins 6-8 have parking in front of the cabin, cabins 1-5 have to find alternative parking. The confirmation email should better indicate where cabin 1-5 park, otherwise they park in front of someone else's cabin. It caused an argument with us and cabin 5
This place was ok and a good experience for our boys but definitely wouldn’t stay there for more than 2 days. We knew the moment we got there that the pictures deceived us...even our neighbors said the same thing. The place smelled like urine, the rooms were so hot at night, the bathrooms were icky, the kayaks were filthy BUT the treehouses were beautiful and clean. We enjoyed the view at nighttime and enjoyed the nature’s sounds in the morning but they could do a better job at keeping their amenities “cleaner”. We actually would stay here again because it really is a good getaway from the city but like I mentioned, couldn’t do it longer than 2 days.

Great Place - Only needs a few adjustments
We had a great time and would recommend this anyone who loves an outdoorsy getaway, but with some of the comforts of home (a/c, beds, fridge, microwave). The a/c keeps the room very cool and comfortable, and they provide other household items (such as dishes, linens, toilet paper) to make you feel more at home during your stay. The grounds are kept very nice and free of trash and debris. The creek water is nice and also free of trash and debris. They provide kayaks, water floats, and paddle boards for your enjoyment, which is also nice. The location is super easy to find! We also drove over to Gruene where we got to see the old Gruene Hall and had a FANTASTIC lunch at Gruene River Grill! The chicken fried steak is a MUST! Cute little town and nice scenic 15 minute drive to get there.

Now for the things that could use work.

The bathrooms! The communal bathrooms where you must shower could use a bit more attention. By this I mean a few more cleanings throughout the day (realistically, probably more in the evening time when people are wanting to get cleaned up). It’s gross to have to walk into a bathroom with a wet, muddy floor when you’re trying to get clean. I would also suggest getting some more oars, as there always seemed to be plenty of kayaks, but no one could use them because the oars were in use. They should have enough for each kayaker. The only other suggestion is that I wish they had given a bit more notice about the presence of raccoons. Yes, they ask you to pick up and food or trash from porch (which we did), but they (raccoons) come to check things out anyway. When they turned over our empty garbage can and rummaged around on the porch at 2 am, setting off the alarm on our door, our tent full of women and children almost had a heart attack!! We’re laughing about it now, but it was terrifying at the time.

All in all, it was a great experience! We’d like to come back and rent the tr

Quaint little Retreat
Great location, lots of shade trees and just the right size. The other campers were very nice and there was a family atmosphere, which was relaxing. The rooms are extremely nice and clean.
My only complaint would be the “incinerator poopinator” as we called it(toilet) that was in the tent. It did not work right, there weren’t any of the paper things to go in there, the urine would just run out the bottom and drip off the deck which in turn caused flys to swarm. After pushing the button to incinerate things, a cloud of burnt pee and poop floated out in the common area. That can’t be healthy to breathe in. Seems though they should be on the backside to float out into the trees. Thankfully they have other “real” bathrooms just steps away that we’re clean. Management/reservations need to learn to communicate with each other and to the renters. We reserved tubes to float and was sent back and forth from one place to another and no one could find our reservations or informed us floating was cancelled due to previous storm.

Fun family vacation.
All I got to say that is negative is: the emergency peepod/toilet attached to each cabin needs to be clean DAILY. On A Regular Basis!!!! Pew!!! It stinks all over the place to even be able to eat or chill. We stayed there for 3 nights and not even 1 day was it cleaned. We didn’t use ours but got to put up with the stink of the other cabins on each side of us. And if I was 10 lbs bigger, I would’ve not been able to fit through the common bathroom doors. Other than that, the kids had fun and we may be back, this time renting a Corbin with its own full bath.

We found our preview of paradise!
This was the best family/friends vacation we’ve ever had. Our group reserved 7 of the 10 Getaway Cabins “yurts”. Not a single complaint from any of us about the rooms. They were all very clean, cool, and well appointed with all the supplies we needed. Very boutique style in my opinion. We typically do group tent camping so this was a definite upgrade for us. The grounds were well maintained. The kids loved the hot tub and game room. Shower units were clean and supplied. Adults and kids alike had a blast playing night volleyball. The creek was perfect. I thought they may have photo shopped the water color online but they did not! It’s that pretty. We spent most of the daylight hours in the water: fishing, in tubes, kayaks, and paddle boards. The kids loved the rope swing. If you paddle upstream enough there is a pretty little water fall. There is a lovely gathering area in front of the cabins for yard games, BBQ, and watching the kids run and play. It was made even more magical when the fireflies came out. We are already talking about our next trip back!

I’m am not sure where the bad reviews are coming from. I definitely do my research before I book my trips and thank goodness I did not let the bad reviews scare me off. I would have hated to miss out on this.

Great intro to camping for my family
We really enjoyed our stay at Geronimo Creek. Our family of 5 was comfortable in the cabin, and there were enough conveniences to make my wife and three girls comfortable, but it also felt enough like actual camping for me. We arrived just after a major rain event, so the creek water was very dirty and not suitable for swimming, but we still found plenty to do on-site between the game room , volleyball court, and disc golf. The other guests were very courteous for the most part. I did have to ask a small group of guys who were listening and singing to music next door below their cabin to quiet down late one night, but they did. I was worried about the bathrooms and showers being outside the cabins, but my wife and kids really had no problems with it. Overall I would highly recommend Best Texas Travel. They were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay. Next time, we will get a tree house!

Fun, but showing some wear
We have visited Geronimo Creek twice over the last couple of years. It's still so much fun and the Getaway Cabins are just delightful, but overall things are starting to seem a bit worn and not as clean as in the past. There was a lot of trash on the ground around our cabin (although the cabin itself seemed clean) and the dock surface is getting very worn and is soooo slippery it's a real hazard. We miss the large swim mat that used to be there in the creek and the kid-sized kayak. Overall, we still had a great time and love the whole vibe of the place and how family-friendly it is.
