So sad. This condo is what happens when owners get greedy and wont put ANY upkeep into their unit. The hot tub is critical to keep 40 something year old legs going for 5 days on Red Mountain. Their hot tub is broken. Well, to be clear, the breaker pops when you run the jets for 5 minutes, then you can't reset it for about 12 hours. Do they care? In the words of the front desk - "well, it has been doing that for a while now but usually only a couple times a week." When pressed about getting some break on the steep nightly rate - "Well, you did have access to a hot tub..." Obvious fix was to replace an aging breaker for $100. Sad. Then there was the leak in the roof in the upstairs bathroom. We lived with a bucket in the middle of the floor for the duration of our stay. The Television is vintage - 32" tube TV circa 1995. Really? We are up there to ski hard and enjoy our evenings in style. We cook up a great meal, sit on the couch to watch the hockey game and we can't see the puck. The stereo receiver is old and not working quite right. No way to plug in an Ipod. The barbeque was very tired and could have used a good clean. We were a group of 10 and have friends in the Kootenays. When we come to town we spend a significant amount of our hard earned income in the community, on the ski hill and with the local adventure ski tourism spots - cat skiing, heli skiing, ski touring guides, etc. We travel to different destinations year after year, and although we have previously stayed at Copper 1 - never again unless the ownership/management changes. We have had awesome experiences and are accustomed to spending but getting premium service in return. The customer service here was lacking any care or compassion. Absolutely no effort to make things right. The only reason for 2 stars is that this place is one of the very few on the mountain with 8 beds in one unit. I think we will stay in Nelson or go back to Revelstoke. Don't waste your money here. Although it was a great place 8 years ago when we first checked in, no upgrades and apparently little maintenance since.
