Where to Stay & Why - Whether it’s a family vacation, reunion, spring break, group-business outing, or just a weekend getaway, you can pick a home or condo rental with just one bedroom/one bathroom or more, making sure everyone can enjoy their privacy comfortably. The lodgings are kept in pristine condition and do not lack those homey touches - with beautiful Gulf views, warm and bright decor - every vacation rental offers luxury and comfort in every room.

Many of the spacious bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, closets, and drawers, and ceiling fans to give an open tropical feel. The living room can be a bright gathering area with comfortable furniture, HD TV, and a doorway leading to a covered outdoor area - deck, patio, or balcony - where you’ll find additional dining and seating areas, outdoor kitchen amenities, fire pit, and more, overlooking a pool and/or a lush landscaping. The kitchen is fully equipped and has an open concept so you may stay in contact with family/friends while cooking.

Other amenities you may get to enjoy are air conditioning, washer and dryer, garage or dedicated parking, WiFi, cable, telephone for local calls, gaming consoles, books, and if you choose to stay in one of the condo rentals, on-site amenities are also available. Some owners go the extra mile with their vacation rental homes in that they have a karaoke machine, games tables, entertainment rooms, and pool toys.

What to See & Do - The Southwest contains a constellation of enticing coastal gems. The beach is the main draw, and there are hundreds of family-friendly, white-sand beaches to choose from. The Gulf Coast is a fisherman’s dream with excellent deep-sea fishing and many fishing charters available. Water sports like diving, surfing, and snorkeling are also great ways to spend your vacation time. For organized fun, cruise beside dolphins and go on a shelling adventure. Take a tour of the many local landmarks and attractions. See wild alligators and birds or see panthers from the animal sanctuary. Golfers adore spectacular courses in Marco Island and Naples. There is always something in this corner of the Sunshine State.

Where to Eat & Drink - During your trip to Southwest Florida, you’ll want to taste all of the best food from the region as it prides itself on its fresh seafood and is home to some of the best in the world. Try the freshly caught stone crab or luscious lobster rolls at the Eaton Street Seafood Market in Key West. Nosh on sliders and fries at Cafe and Bar Lurcat. For drinks, dock at Cabbage Key and hit the bar for a Cabbage Creeper. Nearby Ophelia’s on the Bay serves waterside romance and a luscious blue-crab bisque - request a table on the outdoor terrace skirting Little Sarasota Bay and keep an eye out for a dolphin.

How to Get Here & Getting Around - Southwest Florida International Airport is the region’s major airport. From here, it’s only 20 miles to Sanibel Island, 35 miles to Naples, and 46 miles to Marco Island. Towns located along the I-75 highway stretch makes it easy to get around the area. Vacationers have easy access to car and bike rentals, so getting around beach towns are faster and more convenient. A ferry service is offered for those staying in the Florida Keys. Key West also provides a Park ‘n Ride service for those exploring the downtown area.

When to Go - Be prepared for hot, humid weather. Like many parts of Florida, summers here are long and afternoon thunderstorms are common. Winter is a great time to visit as the temperature in the area is comfortable and mild. Keep in mind that the Gulf has a hurricane season from June to November - check the forecast before traveling!

The region really is a comfortable mix of classic and cosmopolitan, laid back and fast-paced. Go ahead and take a look at our travel guide and enjoy!
