Where to Eat & Drink - During your trip to Southwest Florida, you’ll want to taste all of the best food from the region as it prides itself on its fresh seafood and is home to some of the best in the world. Try the freshly caught stone crab or luscious lobster rolls at the Eaton Street Seafood Market in Key West. Nosh on sliders and fries at Cafe and Bar Lurcat. For drinks, dock at Cabbage Key and hit the bar for a Cabbage Creeper. Nearby Ophelia’s on the Bay serves waterside romance and a luscious blue-crab bisque - request a table on the outdoor terrace skirting Little Sarasota Bay and keep an eye out for a dolphin.

How to Get Here & Getting Around - Southwest Florida International Airport is the region’s major airport. From here, it’s only 20 miles to Sanibel Island, 35 miles to Naples, and 46 miles to Marco Island. Towns located along the I-75 highway stretch makes it easy to get around the area. Vacationers have easy access to car and bike rentals, so getting around beach towns are faster and more convenient. A ferry service is offered for those staying in the Florida Keys. Key West also provides a Park ‘n Ride service for those exploring the downtown area.

When to Go - Be prepared for hot, humid weather. Like many parts of Florida, summers here are long and afternoon thunderstorms are common. Winter is a great time to visit as the temperature in the area is comfortable and mild. Keep in mind that the Gulf has a hurricane season from June to November - check the forecast before traveling!
