Please note UNIT SPECIFICS AND VIEWS: This entire resort is run by one company and managed like a hotel. All the units at this resort are managed as part of a common pool. Unit assignments are made at check in. This has some advantages and disadvantages for the guest.
Advantages: All the units are furnished by the managing company and are identical on the inside. 2) You get your electronic card keys, etc at the front desk.
Disadvantages: 1) Because all the units are part of a rental pool, most owners cannot guarantee the unit you will be assigned. 2) The only way an owner can guarantee a particular view is to meet all three of these requirements:
a) book the reservation at the resort more than 8 months in advance;
b) book for exactly 7 nights starting on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday;
c) have originally purchased one of the units which has view reservation rights.
Although I don't posses special view reservation rights, I own a large number of units, making me a '5 Star' elite owner in the program. As a result, my guests get some priority for unit assignments. To date, everyone has been happy with their view and unit assignment. However, if your vacation hinges on a confirmed oceanfront unit, you probably want to find someone who can guarantee your view. Remember, if it's less than 8 months before check in, you will need to find an owner who reserved your exact dates before the 8 month deadline.
