Stay at Palm Island Resort, located on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast, is the state’s only true-out island resort. No bridges or causeways to the island exsist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting. The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island. Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.
Enjoy access to one of the 5 heated pools, plus hot tub and gas BBQ grills at each pool area. 11 hard tennis courts available for play and always complimentary. Our recreation center, Coconuts, offers a variety of rentals to include golf carts, bicycles, kayaks and beach umbrellas. You will receive 1 round trip car ferry pass for each two night stay. Your arrival and departure day are given to you.

There are no cars permitted within the resort. Our bell staff will pick you up after you register in our reception center and take you and your luggage to your villa.

Please note that the car ferry stops running at 10PM weekdays, 11PM Friday night, and 12 midnight on Saturday.

Damages: Please report any damage to our Reception Center atimmediately. We reserve the right to charge the credit card on file for any damages that occur during your stay.

walking in the beach and collecting shells. The sliding doors need repair difficult to open. Lost power for several hours and the flashlight had no batteries and no candle.Restaurant is below average for quality of food with little choice.

We loved our stay at Palm Island. The pictures we saw on the site are accurate! Our unit faced the gulf, offering a tranquil view of the pearl-white sand and light green water. The furnishings were in good condition. The bed was comfortable. The grounds at PIR were very well-maintained, as are the tennis courts and pools. Next time we will take more groceries and prepare dinner in the unit, as there is only one restaurant on the island. We didn't need a golf cart, as our unit was centrally located and we like to walk. But most people seemed to use them. The quick ferry ride adds to the charm. Everyone we met was very friendly. We are looking forward to our next visit.

My husband and I came from Oklahoma on our 25th anniversary celebration and we couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to vacation! This island was beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful, the pool area was amazing and the beach was just what I was hoping for. I came to find shells and I found plenty. We ate at the Rum Bay Restaurant most evenings and the full kitchen was great for the groceries we brought to the island. If you tend to get cold easily, bring a sweater or jacket for the cooler weather and maybe a raincoat if rain is in the forecast. We made our visit in November but it was still gorgeous until the sunset or if it was overcast, then it would be a bit chilly for me, but I am cold natured. We plan to come back in the summer with the whole family! We had a great time!

Only sounds around were waves, seagulls, pelican. Sandy beaches covered with shells of all kinds. The kiss of the waves cools the heat of the sun.

I love palm island and will come back again but maybe not to the same unit. It is billed as “standard” and I have stayed in it before but the furnishings are finally just too worn out to even rate as standard anymore. Many many years of wet swim suits, sunscreen and sand are obvious in the couches and chairs. This unit needs some tlc . The resort as usual is fantastic and since the weather was great we spent little time indoors anyway.

I love Palm Island. I had visit the resorts 5 to 7 times but this last time the villa 3524 was not what I had experience before. First, the AC was not working properly. Second, the unit is outdated, Third the kitchen was dirty, the utensils,pots and pans were old and in bad shape. Fourth, the unit had to much furniture for the space. Fifth, the fan at the porch was not working . The staff at the resort is very friendly and helpful specially the bell door staff and the office staff even though they were not able to resolved my issues. I will recommend Palm Island but not this unit. The unit need mayor renovation specially for the price.

We enjoyed a wonderful mini vacation last weekend. Our condo was clean and perfectly appointed with a beautiful view of the beach. The resort staff was friendly and helpful, great food at Rum Bay! We will be back soon!

Our 2nd visit to Palm Island Resort did not disappoint. The beautiful and quiet beach, the pool and hot tub, the friendly and helpful staff, the amazing view from our screened porch all added up to an wonderful vacation.

When I first arrived to the ferry pickup/drop off area, there was a lot of confusion on what to do. I was being dropped off by a car to ride over on the ferry on foot. The men working were extremely rude and cussing around guests. It was very disrespectful. There was no communication between the three of them apparently because they were telling each car to do something different. Then they were yelling at the guests for not knowing where to go. After getting off the ferry on the island side, we were not informed that the bell hop service could not pick us up. It is over a mile walk to the resort and i would have had to walk that with my luggage if the cleaning people hadnt seen me and picked me up.....

We love Palm Island but Unit 3524 has visible mold growing on AC vents and lower ceiling in living room. It is a health hazard and should be removed from the rental pool. I notified front desk when we checked out. We have stayed at Palm Island many times and this is the first time we have ever had a problem with a unit we were staying in.

My husband and went to Palm Island on our honeymoon recommended by friends, but we should have asked more questions about the amenities. My condo was extremely outdated and smelled. There was black mold on the ceiling and the TV in the bedroom did not work. This was reported and not changed for our stay. I understand seclusion and quiet but there was hardly anyone there at all and zero diversity in guests and staff.

With the exception of the front office manager (head of reservations, whom was extremely rude, hard to work with and condescending to Global Discovery guests) Our stay was FABULOUS!! Palm Island is my new Hawaii. I will be back without question.

Great rental unit. The only one bedroom standard and it’s in good shape. I can see it will need some sprucing up eventually (carpet) but we love this unit and plan our visits for when this one is available.

The island itself is beautiful as always. We enjoyed the pool, fishing at stump pass, driving around in the golf cart, and eating at the restaurant. We had a great stay.

We love Palm Island but this was our first time staying on the resort, as opposed to private home rentals. The amenities were wonderful, we checked out the pool, hot tub, and the fitness center. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
And you cannot beat the sunset view!
We will definitely be back!

Great villa. It has everything you need and is in decent shape for a standard unit, and also has Wi-fi (which many units do not have). The owners also have a little book on the table with recommendations etc. which is nice). There was a little bit of red tide in the air this visit (which we have encountered several times now in the past 2 years - unfortunately it does make a difference so we always check mote marine before we book but sometimes it's on certain sections of the beach anyway). Watch for the new resort fee they started assessing a few months ago - very annoying.

Nice place, very friendly staff at the entrance gate. Our room was very room amd was not able to turn thermostat down to cool. Needless to say, that makes it uncomfortable to sleep in the evenings. The beach and water was gorgoues. Overall it was a nice stay.

This is the second year in a row that we have stayed at Palm Island Resort and had such a lovely time once again. Love the beach, shelling, sunsets, tennis, hot tub, etc. Love being able to head to the beach at a moment's notice. Condo was clean and had everything we needed. Particularly like the screened in porch with the big suggesting doors. Comfortable beds!

We 've been coming here for 0ver 30 yrs. Always a great stay. Marty in the office was outstanding as usual. Red tide hurt the fishing but it was not close to shore so no issue for us. The shelling was the best ever. All high quality. Condo was very comfortable. Only negative is property is a bit pricey. Also stop the app. It seems to be a big data miner. Just email us directly. Still we 'll be back.

It was very disappointing due to the Red Tide. We couldn't go to the beach or the pool without coughing and eye irritation. Between my kids and their families we had 3 villas for the week. I have COPD and any irritation to my lungs is dangerous. Because of scheduling of vacation time with the family, it was our only option for this year for all of us to be together. So we stayed and we were pretty much confined to the villa.

MOST disappointing was that management COMPLETELY disregarded our feedback to them upon checkout. The first issue we had was the door lock/key did not work and we had to resort to using the chain lock only while we were there. Didn't feel too secure. Second,the unit did NOT have blinds or anything else on the front door to keep the extremely bright lights (from the building) out at night when we were sleeping. Consequently we had to shut the bedroom door each night which we disliked. Third, the carpet in our unit DEFINITELY needed to be replaced! The owners (of 35 yrs as indicated in their guest book)need to consider this because not only is the carpet old but it also had an order. When our family,staying in another unit,came over they commented on the"stinky carpet" and it became a vacation JOKE! The worst was that upon check out, we kindly mentioned these things to the desk clerk (heavy set woman whose name began with a "K"...Karen?) and, she completely blew our feedback off. She made an excuse about the door lock and said the "weather" swells the locks so the keys don"t work (as in NO BIG DEAL)and had absolutely no interest in taking our comments seriously. We have stay at both one and two bdrm units at this resort when we lived in Florida, Texas and now Virginia and disappointed. I will NEVER rent this particular unit again and was very disappointed overall all. The FACE of Palm Island Resort (front desk) should be more than cavalier towards their guests or the guest will find somewhere else to vacation! The rates are high and guests expect the units to be safe and the staff attentive to feedback. Overall, it was too expensive a trip (which included airfares, food and car rental in addition to the unit expenses) to be disappointed. This is our HONEST feedback! Hope something will be done for the company to be truly interested in the guests.

The resort is perfect for a relaxing getaway. The beach was very natural and preserved. We walked for miles and only saw two people. We saw tons of crabs, stingrays, dolphins, turtles, shells.... We did venture off the island for dinner at Farlows on the Water (fabulous) and a night at the White Elephant (go on karaoke night!!!). Bring bug spray for the mosquitoes. Since the island is preserved with a lot of green space the mosquitoes can be bothersome. I got Off forest dry spray and it worked great.

I love the resort, it's tranquil without a lot of people. The beaches are amazing, and the pool is nice after a long day at the beach. The villa is nice with TV and being able to make your own meals.

We really enjoyed our stay at Palm Island. Initially we were a little apprehensive about having to rely on the ferry when we wanted to go somewhere but we ended up only leaving the island one day. It was quiet and peaceful and the beach was stunning.

Our stay at the resort was fine. It is a beautiful area and super quiet! For some reason We were charged an additional fee of $55.35 (resort said it was not them) to my debit card. Still need investigating when I return home. Must be a hidden fee from Home Away. The resort is beautiful, but I would not stay in that unit. The condo unit needs attention! We would go back just not to that condo unit. Talking to other guests their condo unit was in good condition with no issues. The resort staff was great!

We stayed at Palm Island for a wedding. What a gorgeous secluded place. Everyone was very friendly. Our condo was a little dated, but would stay in it again in a heartbeat. The location of it was great with easy access to the beach, pool and Rum Bay. Thank you Palm Island! We will be back!!

My boyfriend and I loved the resort. The atmosphere was quaint and very laid back. We particularly loved riding around on the golf cart and spending time on the beach at Stump Pass. My only problem with my stay was the particular villa that we stayed in. I do realize that I requested a standard unit, but it was completely outdated and didn't have a clean feeling. The air conditioner was not working all that great either. We were there for a wedding, so I was able to see multiple other villas. Our villa was nowhere close to being as nice. I will recommend Palm Island Resort to my friends, just not that particular villa.

Celebrating a Birthday wanting to get away! Staff was Amazing from the first phone call, once we arrived every member of staff was smiling, friendly and very accommodating! We booked the kayaking tour with Kris she Was Wonderful! Our unit had Spectacular Views!!! Although some guest stated the unit was dated we Loved it! it was Very Warming and we felt Cozy not stuffy!!! Would stay there without any hesitation!!!

We have been going here for 20yrs. That in itself should tell you how we feel about this place.
We want to try and keep this our little secret but realize that for it to stay in business people have to know about it so we tell everyone.
When we are there we feel like we're a thousand miles away. It's so quiet and pristine, the best shell collecting beach and welcoming place.
Whoever is is in charge of seeing to it that employees make you feel welcome has done his/her job well.

I returned to stay at Palm Island resort because my Late Husband and I loved to stay , He was battling cancer and this was a favorite place for peaceful beach time !! It was my time alone to return and enjoy the peaceful Walks on the beach and search the soul!! The Villa was comfortable and the view was so beautiful and staff always friendly and helpful!!

We enjoyed our two night stay at the resort so much. From the informative welcome at the Reception to the friendly check-out, it was lovely. The reseort is beautiful, quiet, peaceful -- and manages to be upscale without being stuffy or intimidating. We had a great view and comfortable accommodations. Our unit, and I realize they are all different owners and decor, was nice. My ony suggestion would be that the chairs on the balcony are in need of replacement.
The beach was wonderful -- just what you dream of. I went to yoga (the instructor is wonderful and lovely) and we went to a nature walk/talk that was offered mid-day too which was also great and educational and fun. The restaurant was "just right" and offered many choices.
We took the water taxi to the mainland one night to the other restaurant which was also nice, but a bit more crowded. Be careful to communicate clearly with the boat taxi about when you want to return (we had a near miss due to communications, but made it fine).

Stayed in room 3524. It was very tidy and stocked with all the necessary amenities. One thing I will say is that the furniture and fixtures seemed very old, like they haven't been upgraded since the 90's. This place is great to stay if all you want to do is relax and not do much other than go to the beach. I liked their on-site restaurant and bar and complimentary water taxi to their other restaurant off the island. The staff was friendly and nice, always available to help with whatever we needed.

We stayed at the resort for a wedding. The resort is quiet and relaxing and perfect for a large group. Our villa was nice (just a standard) and the facilities were great. I would suggest better paths to the beach, but I also understand the need to keep everything natural. At times, we felt that the wedding party were the only guests on the island! I am sure this is because it was a down time.

Every single person from the resort was friendly and genuinely helpful.

We made Palm Island Villa our home away from home for a week in a comfortable one bedroom villa. We were on the 2nd floor and could see the ocean and sunsets from our lanai or living room window. Whether walking, riding bikes or golf cart, you can take a peaceful walk all through the resort. No cars are allowed beyond the registration station. Gathering shells and walking the beach or island paths occupied much of our time, but the ride on the water taxi, seeing the egrets nest and dolphin was also enjoyable. All staff we encountered were super helpful and professional. The food, setting and service was great at the Island Bay Rum Restaurant and the mainland restaurant, Leverocks, reached by water taxi. There are many other activities available including tennis, golf, fitness center.

My husband and I had been working a lot and needed a break! Palm Island Resort was exactly what we were looking for. The condo was located with a fabulous view of the Gulf. Service was great. We truly enjoyed the guided kayaking tour. We plan to return to the island again!

The room's couch had brown stains on it and looked like it was pulled off the side of the road from someones trash pile in the 70's. I had to lay towels on it to sit.
We left some baby teething toys in the freezer and called when we got home. Instead of management going and looking for it, they called housekeeping and they said they saw nothing. I had put them in the freezer consciously before we left to take with us on our ride home. We had already packed everything, I just threw them in the freezer to cool, but forgot to grab them as we walked out. I was disappointed as those teething toys(3) were at least $40.
Other than that, the beach was beautiful and the view was nice. Everyone was friendly and accommodating!
I was just disappointed in the dirty furniture and the disservice with the toys.

I have been coming to Palm Island for 20 years. I love this place. I stayed in unit 35-24, first time, and thought it was very nice. I had some difficulties in getting the air conditioner working to an adequate level, 74 degrees, upon check-in. It was only after repeated requests and a demand that the issue be addressed on the night of my check-in that it was. The AC guy came and it took him awhile to find the problem, but he did manage to get the system working to an adequate level.

We are looking for property on the island and it is so convenient and nice to stay at the resort. Everyone is beyond helpful and friendly and the property and beach is just beautiful. Our only complaint is that the unit we stayed in was in great need of repair. Broken cabinets and old appliances. If they update, it will be perfect. Can't wait to return...thank you.

We have spent many years looking for REAL Florida. Palm Island is a true resort to escape to starting with a ferry crossing, no traffic and perfect peace and quiet. Traffic is limited to golf carts only. The beach and the gulf are beautiful and the resort is beautifully manicured. Total peace and quiet.

after a late arrival at 9:15 pm and an understaffed rental car facility at Punta Gorda airport we were rushed to get to palm Island due to the fact the ferry stopped service at 11pm. We arrived right at 11pm and ferried over to the island ,only to find that there were no restaurants open, we got up early to have breakfest in the resort restaurant, they did not open til 11:30 am. But after this rocky start, we found the resort to be absolutely a great, place to relax, with beautiful views and a very nice and clean condo. If youn are looking for a quiet,and almost remote setting, this is the place. The ferry is a very interesting set up. We would definately stay here again, friendly and helpful staff, and great accomadations. Restaurant needs some help.

Unit was very run down-no updates in >20 years. Old crusty carpet with burned iron stain. Ice maker broken and not replaced. None of keys worked in door lock-frame warped? Have been to Palm Island many times but was definitely disappointed in being assigned this unit.

Spent a long weekend out at Palm Island and stated in one of the 6-plex Beach Cottages with my Wife. What a great discovery this place was (our 1st visit). Secluded, serene, quiet, relaxing, and beautiful describes the place well. The only knoocks we could even give the stay was the the 1BR unit we stayed in was just a little musty smelling, but otherwise was clean and fully stocked for a families long term use. The restaurant on the Island was reasonable priced and served great meals (we ate there 3 times). The local store is very limited in supplied, but if you pack accordingly, you won't need much that would warrant a trip off of the island. Highly recommend!

Our room was beautiful and the view was breath taking. I felt your rate for a one night stay was rather high especially since it's not even season yet. We were there for a vow renewal and we spent very little time at the resort. Check in at 3 and out by 11 the next day. It would have been nice to have an earlier check in time so we could have explored the resort and perhaps taken advantage of some of the ammenities.
We would love to return for a longer period of time but it was just to expensive for us.
However we will recommend the resort to our friends who come down from Connecticut.

There couldn't have been a better choice for our 5 year anniversary. My girlfriend stayed at Palm Island Resort when she was a kid, and her grandparents recommended the resort when I had mentioned that I wanted to surprise her with a vacation. We had the Romance Package: consisting of a Lobster Picnic with wine on the beach, Dinner at Leverocks on the mainland, and a golf cart rental for our stay. Watching the beautiful sunset on such an amazing island was definitely the highlight of our vacation. We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa that overlooked the ocean Just minutes away. By far, the best staff of any resort we have been to.

We were expecting a "resort style" or an "upscale" stay; however the experience was "below average." The villa was not clean and the resort was boring. Would not recommend for a young family. Not worth the money.

The property needs to be updated not to mention the roaches found in the unit. The furniture is old and dirty the rugs are also dirty I would not recommend this place to a family or friend the staff was nice but the overall expirence was not the best. My sister rented aunit as well and found a frog in the bathroom while she was bathing the baby. it is a shame the place has not been kept up nicely.

The reservation reps should adv people how to actually get to the island if bringing boat and that if we choose to use the marina that they close at 5pm. Other than the extra hour and half we took trying to figure out how to take the boat to the island it was a great stay, outstanding view, great staff and just beautiful!

We have been coming to Palm Island and Don Pedro Island for the last 25 years! This condo was by the far most disappointed I have been in a rental either place! Carpet filthy! Primitive fridge with no ice machine! Furnishings dirty and in need of replacement or cleaning. Bedspread dirty, stove fan broken, family room fan missing a piece. Reported all to front desk. Very disappointed we weren't not put into a nicer unit as repeat customers! Unit not worth the price!!!!

The only disparaging comment would be the older guests or residents that did not like children at the pool (or on the property in general). Segregation might be an option for people with no family.

Golf carts are very outdated and in need of upgrade.
Ther furniture AND bed in the villa was very very hard and uncomfortable.
Gusts should not have dogs on the island.

My wife and I went to the resort for the first time to celebrate our anniversay. The staff was very friendly. The room was extremely clean and well stocked. We had read reveiws about how many shells were on the beach, but no comments can prepare you for how MANY shells there are; so many beautiful colors and kinds that you can literally "hunt" for hours in a 100 yard section. Since cars aren't allowed in the resort it was very quite and slow paced. Would absolutely come back again for a couples weekend but will probably have to bring the kids next time after they saw all of the shells.

We were very happy with the resort. The resort is laid back and beautiful. The staff was excellent. The only reason there are not all five stars is that the beach was not cleaned up of dead fish. There were quite a few that had been there for some time. That was really the only disappointing thing about the resort!

We love Palm Island. Have been coming for years. Was disappointed this year in the reservation process. Tried to get reservation made via email when specials were being offered only to be told later by phone that the offers were no longer available for
that week. Web site should be more detailed about availablity.

This was our second time on Palm Island. We absolutely love going there. It is a wonderful place to experience. The food, however, is below average at the restaurant on the Island and Leverocks. I don't see how the restaurant can advertise their famous ribs and then serve you dry, boring, not very good ribs. Very dissappointing. Everything else, however, is amazing. I just love the pool.

This was our first time at Palm Island Resort. We found the people in the office to be very accommodating...we had a couple little problems and they were taken care of immediately with a really good attitude and response. The unit we were in was very clean but not updated (the furniture was old). We felt that the property was also very well maintained and clean. The ONLY big disappointment was the sheets! They looked like they were homemade...very old and tired! They were limp....... actually "pilled" from too much wear and not even ironed! I requested another set and they were exactly the same! I would love to see you invest in new sheets for the units! Having a good night's sleep on quality sheets would be a treat!

The bedroom was hot and did not cool down complelely the first night of our stay. We had to drop the thermostat the to low 70's to keep the bedroom somewhat cool. The unit need some wall repair work around the washer/dryer and paint.
The dryer did not heat. Not sure if this problem might have been operator error. Palm Island Resort is a unique property. The best combination of beach and number of people I have ever found. We will return! Thank You
