If you want to make the most out of your vacation rental's kitchen and save, you can pick up groceries, food, and drinks in Kamloops before heading up to the resort. If you're willing to shell out more, Sun Peaks has Three Mountains Market & Sundance Liquor Store, Roxy's Market, and Bluebird Market.

How to Get Here & Getting Around - Sun Peaks is easily accessible via Kamloops or Kelowna Airport. By car, take Highway 1 east via Kamloops from Vancouver, then via Highway 5, exit to Jasper for Sun Peaks. Once you’re there, everything is walkable. If not, there’s a regular shuttle service that you can take.

When to Go - If you want to visit during winter, the resort usually opens in mid-November and closes before mid-April. Yet, Sun Peaks enjoys some of the best weather in British Columbia and offers outdoor opportunities year-round.

As a corner unit, there's easy access to the path just outside of your front door which is also your ski-in/ski-out access. This home has a queen bed in the master bedroom (with an ensuite bathroom), a queen bed in the second bedroom, and a queen-sized sofabed in the living room. Location Highlights: Settler's Crossing is a great complex that ranges from studio apartments to three-storey condos, so you're bound to find a place suitable for your next holiday. Settler's Crossing is located in the East Village which means the complex is ski-in/ski-out by way of the Orient and Morrisey chairlifts. It is approximately a 10 - 15 minute walk to the main village or just a short drive. The next closest complexes are Stone's Throw and Echo Landing, which sandwich Settler's Crossing on both sides, so if you want family or friends to book close by there's essentially triple the options. Settler's Crossing has a few underground parkades with a clearance height of 2.29m (7'6"). There are signs on the outside of each parkade indicating which units have parking stalls for that parkade. There is a small temporary parking zone for the purpose of loading/unloading to the left side of the entrance of the complex. SKI-IN/SKI-OUT INFORMATION: From the top of Sundance, use the Rambler run to connect to the East Village Ski Way, and get on Hasta La Vista to return to the complex. From the top of Orient, you can take Hasta La Vista directly down. Alternatively, the East Village Ski Way can be used to access the next complex over and it's just a short walk back to Settler's Crossing. To ski-out, from the lower-numbered side of the complex, pass the trees to hop on Hasta La Vista and under the Skier Underpass to get to the Morrisey and Orient Express chairlifts. Alternatively, walking to these chairlifts takes approximately 3 - 5 minutes.

I choose this condo because it had 4 bedrooms with either a double or queen bed and all 4 couples had their own space. The property was as advertised, the only surprises were good ones. Kitchen was fully equipped and the open floor on the main level allowed us to all enjoy each others company. "[The Property Manager]" was easy to contact with questions pre-arrival and our lift tickets were waiting for us at the condo as promised. This condo is truly ski-in, ski-out. Parking passes are provided but we walked to town. After a full day on the slopes we barbequed our steaks on the patio and then relaxed in the hot tub. The condo was very spacious and as well as 4 bathrooms there were racks in the laundry room for drying for your ski/snowboarding gear and space to store your gear in the attached garage. For the Orient Express, you can take the chairlift up and head down the Czesc run which connects to the East Village Ski Way which will take you back to the Stone's Throw complex, but it also connects further below to the Mt Morrisey Connector run that will bring you back to the Orient or down to the Morrisey Express. For the Morrisey Express, there are a variety of runs that lead back to the base of the hill and from there it's either a short walk back to Stone's Throw, or hit the Orient and follow ski-in that way. The 16th hole of the Sun Peaks Golf Course runs alongside the complex, with some units even having a beautiful view of the green. In the winter this becomes part of the Hasta La Vista run which will also lead you back to the Orient. The next closest complexes are Settler's Crossing right beside, and just past that is the new Echo Landing. Under construction is the new Elevation complex which will be behind and above Stone's Throw. There is an underground parkade with an entrance under the higher numbered units. There is a small courtyard around the lower numbered units which is a No Parking zone but temporary parking for the purpose of loading/unloading is permitted for 20 minutes or less. Another loading/unloading No Parking zone is located between the parkade entrance and Settler's Crossing ideal for units numbered in the 20s and 30s.

Ski-in access is by way of the Gentle Giant run (which is connected to both Sundance and Rambler, among others) where you can take a turnoff to the backside of the complex or follow along through the valley trail to the complex's entrance (between Timberline). You could also take Rambler to the Mt Morrisey Connector and take the run to the Sundance Estates and cut in to the valley trail that way as well.

Stone's Throw is located in the East Village which means the complex is ski-in/ski-out by way of the Orient and Morrisey chairlifts. It is approximately a 10 - 15 minute walk to the main village or just a short drive. Stone's Throw is ski-in by way of the Hasta La Vista run on the Orient, or by taking the Rambler on Sundance Mtn, connecting to the East Village Ski Way, and hopping on to Hasta La Vista from there. Alternatively, from the Orient you can take any of the blue runs such as Czesc, ça M'a Fait Plaisir, Fair Dinkum, and more, or the East Village Ski Way, to get to the Orient and Morrisey Express chairlifts and from there it's just a short walk back to the complex. For ski-out, you can hop on to Hasta La Vista from the west side of the complex, or East Village Ski Way from the east side of the complex, and take it down to the Orient and Morrisey Express chairlifts. For ski-in from the Morrisey Express, there are a variety of runs that lead back to the base of the hill and from there it's either a short walk back to Stone's Throw, or hit the Orient Express and follow ski-in from Hasta La Vista!

Sun Peaks Ski Resort Official Site: Sun Peaks resort has become the major mountain biking destination in interior B.C. offering a 26 single-track trail system, with one of the longest self guided lift accessed trails in the province.

Skiers at Sun Peaks Mountain have access to 94 runs including 9 gladed areas. Snowboarders are welcome at Sun Peaks where there is a large snowboard park covering 30 acres, with a wild half-pipe and a terrain park loaded with excitement.

Sun Peaks Snowmobiling Tours offers exciting packages for the whole family, or if you prefer something more gentle enjoy the snow-covered trails of Sun Peaks in a horse-drawn sleigh.

Explore the natural winter terrain along designated Snowshoeing trails that include bird feeding stations, wildlife viewing and a snow cave or try some skating at one of the two outdoor rinks at the Sports Center. The Centre also has an outdoor pool and hot tub.
