Bellows Beach Air Force Station, located along the windward side of Oahu, is a recreation centre for military personnel. During the week, the beach is only open to those with military IDs. However, on the weekend the beach opens up to civilians, and people flock to Bellows gorgeous white sands and aqua water. The waves here are great for body surfing, and the sand is soft for sunbathing. There are two lifeguard stations on weekends and during the summer and plenty of picnic tables, as well as showers and restrooms making it an easy place to spend the day. A long white strip of sand makes Bellows perfect for strolls and sunbathing and with wonderful views of the Koolau Mountain range and the numerous offshore islands. In addition, Bellows also offers plenty of shady, forested area, making it an ideal place for a day at the beach.
