British Columbia is a province in Canada. It is a vast region of natural beauty and diverse wildlife. Vancouver is one of the most favorite destinations in Canada. It combines the beauty of nature at its finest with the sophistication of an urban city with world-class amenities. Being the oldest city in Western Canada, it is a cultural haven in British Columbia with its numerous arts and historical museums and galleries. Victoria's heritage sites such as the historic Empress Hotel and Parliament Building in the Inner Harbour are well preserved and worth seeing. Victoria is also home to the second oldest Chinatown in North America. Stop at Silk Road Tea and have a good cup of tea prepared by a real tea master. Then head down to the famous Butchart Gardens where you will be greeted by beautiful displays of various collections of trees, shrubs and flowers. Be amazed by the lush and colorful beds of different kinds of flowers such as roses, tulips, magnolias, hydrangeas and also maples. This is a paradise you don't want to miss. In summer, every Saturday night watch some fireworks illuminating this magnificent garden. For a nature trip, visit the Kootenay Rockies. This is a region where you can enjoy the famous scenic views of Canada. Rivers, lakes, waterfalls, beaches, or hot springs - you can find them all here in the Kootenay Rockies. You can also enjoy wildlife viewing by visiting the Grizzly Bear Refuge, home to orphaned grizzly bear Boo or the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Center where you can encounter and learn more about grey wolves. For a history lesson, go to Yoho National Park. Another region to visit to experience wildlife and diverse ecosystems is Vancouver Island. Rainforests, meadows, mountains and beaches that are found in this area provide homes to a large number of various species. The island is a perfect location for whale and bear watching, birding and even salmon fishing. Seeing these animals in their natural habitat is a priceless experience. The island also offers different water activities. Its many beaches provide great venues for kayaking, surfing and swimming.
