Kalaheo ("A Proud Day") is located on the southwest side of Kauai, not far from Poipu Beach. This quaint town once called "Homestead", is the only town of sizable interest between Lihue and Hanapepe. Kalaheo is part of the reason Kauai is named The Garden Island. It houses some of the lushest and most panoramic landscapes. Nearby, the conveniently located Lihue Airport is only 20 minutes away. Some of the best coffee on the island can be found at Kalaheo Coffee Company in the village area. Beautiful beaches and resorts are a short 15 minute drive to the South in sunny Poipu. Polihale State Park, is a great nearby attraction. It is home to the largest beach in the state and the Waimea Canyon (the Grand Canyon of the Pacific). There are a wide range of activities to participate in here at Kalaheo. Enjoy sightseeing, hiking, snorkeling, ocean kayaking, horseback riding, surfing, sailing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, tennis and golf.
