How to Get Here & Getting Around - If you’re arriving by air, you’ll most likely be flying into the Penticton Regional Airport which is only 10 minutes from Downtown Penticton. There’s also the Kelowna International Airport, which is 1.5 hours away and features air service between other major destination. By car, Highway 97 is the major north-south route through the city and is just a 40-minute drive south of Kelowna. Either way, your short duration of travel will be scenic and relaxing.

If you want the flexibility to enjoy your travels, having a vehicle is the way to go! Renting or having your car lets you establish your own schedule for sightseeing and assists you in getting around. There are also taxis, shuttle services, transit systems, and Greyhound Canada to get anyone around.

When to Go - The hot, dry summer (especially July and August) is peak season and weekends can get crowded. May and June are quieter, and most wineries are open, so either month can be a good alternative to the midsummer peak. However, September just might be the best time for an Okanagan wine-tasting trip.
