What to See & Do - There is a lot more to this community than the mineral pools. There are also great outdoor activities such as horseback riding, hiking, mountaineering, and ice climbing. With a resident population of Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and one of the worlds most significant unspoiled wetland areas on its doorstep, Radium is a unique wildlife viewing destination.
Walk up to Redstreak Campground, and follow the trail to the mineral pools. Return to the village through Sinclair Canyon and visit Rolf Hiers extraordinary woodcarving shop. Start a golf tour at the Radium Resort or Springs golf courses, and play a different Windermere Valley course every day for a week. In winter, soak in the hot springs after a day of skiing or snowboarding.
Where to Eat & Drink - There are many excellent eating establishments in Radium that you may have a difficult time choosing where to dine. You might fancy a latte or a light lunch in a quaint downtown cafe. Order a pizza to go or have a beautifully prepared authentic European dinner with elegant surroundings. If you want to make a hearty meal in the gorgeous kitchen in your home-away-from-home, pick up some steaks to cook in the oven or on the grill with some fresh, locally grown veggies at the supermarket. Dont forget a case of locally-brewed beer or a bottle of an award-winning BC wine to accompany your meal.
Theres live entertainment most nights of the week in a local pub and community events such as festivals, farmers markets, and local musicians entertain live outdoors during summer months.
