Umbertide is an important regional industrial centre and an old world medieval town in the north west region of Umbria, Italy. Umbria is an ancient area known for being the only Italian region that does not border the ocean or any other countries. Five kilometers out of town is the castle of Civitella Raiera, one of the best preserved medieval fortresses in Umbria and is well worth a visit. Umbertide is also located close to the walled medieval village of Borgo Santa Giuliana which makes a wonderful day trip.

Surrounded by beautiful sprawling countryside, Umbertide is a wonderful combination of medieval and modern architecture. Visit in the spring to see the countryside explode with wildflowers of all colours or in the summer to witness the countryside covered in sunflowers to harvest for cooking oil. Located on the Tiber River, Umbertide provides a peaceful holiday destination but is large enough to have a variety of vacation rental accommodations and many other amenities. Umbertide has a variety of restaurants to choose from and most vacation rentals are located in town, close to the various amenities.
