Cancellation Policy

Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.

If we are able to rebook the unit, we will refund you the difference.

Most things should be straightforward after reading through the listing but here are some of the quirks:

The front security gate motor needs to be replaced and is currently operated manually by sliding (easy to close). You can close each night or leave open at all times; it is up to you.

The kitchen cabinets are dated but should operate properly. You may have issues with one drawer near the patio doors.

The home does not have air conditioning as many of the homes in Hawaii do not. While you may experience a few hot days, the trade winds keep things cool the majority of the time. Additional fans are provided for bedroom use (in addition to ceiling fans).

On the exterior patio tv, you can access your streamed accounts such as hulu, netflix, youtube, etc. by using the provided remote. There is a second remote that controls the sound bar. Please do not exceed 15 on the sound bar out of courtesy for the neighbors.

This is a quiet neighborhood with many older residents. Please be polite and respectful. Please keep noise to a minimum after 8pm as sound travels over the water.

There is marina access but there is currently no dock. You can access the marina through the gate and then stand on the rock ledge for access. Please watch the edges of your boards on the rocks and avoid the pier with the tire on it. The concrete platform should be assumed to be unstable and the neighbors wood dock is off limits.

BBQ, turn gas valve on underneath , and off when you are finished using.

The lights in certain areas can be controlled by Alexa voice command. For example --> say, "Alexa, turn on living room lights" OR "Alexa, turn on living room lamps" OR "Alexa, turn on office light". All other areas of the home have a normal light toggle switch.

Please do not leave ANY food out for any amount of time. Try your best to seal everything or put into the fridge. In this tropical climate, the ants and roaches will find their way inside and food will go stale rapidly. Hawaii has large roaches that live outside in the vegetation but if the screen doors remain closed, they should not make their way into the house. If they do find their way inside, we have found the most effective thing to spray them with is Windex.

If parking two cars in the driveway, please be careful not to hit the sliding gate or the curved palm tree by the entrance.

All pool toys should be returned to the Rubbermaid plastic box in the pool area. Beach chairs and paddle boards, boogie boards, etc. should be stored on the side of the property at all times along side the bedrooms to keep them out of the sun. The sun in Hawaii will destroy these items within several weeks if left out. Please avoid using any kid's toys smaller than 2" (small bouncy balls in particular) in size as they could get stuck in our pool filter.

Our pool maintenance guy Kai comes once a week to clean the pool. The plumeria tree on the property loses leaves and flowers at certain times of the year which inevitably end up in the pool. Please help us out by dumping the pool filter basket 1-2x per day into the yard waste trashcan left by the rear patio area. The landscaper will then dump it periodically into the green waste bin by the street for the trash guys to haul away,

Trash day is Saturday morning. Make sure trash bags are positioned in the can so they won't fall out when the truck lifts the can. Please make sure the grey trash can is rolled out on Friday night to the curb with the can placed so the can wheels are closest to the house. There are further instructions on the can if needed..

The blue recycling and green yard waste bins alternate every other Wednesday. Make sure all cardboard boxes are collapsed. Please make sure the appropriate is can is placed out on Tuesday nights.

Energy rates in Hawaii are the highest in the country. Please help us and the rest of the island save on energy costs by running the dryer at off peak hours (9am to 5pm) and avoiding peak hours (5pm to 9pm), turning off all lights when leaving rooms. etc.
