Three ski resorts are found in or near northeastern part of Michigan, Apple Mountain in Freeland, Treetops Resort in Gaylord and Snow Snake Mountain in Harrison. Treetop offers additional winter activities including dog sledding, snowmobiling and tubing. Rental accommodations are available closer to town and include cabin rentals, chalet rentals and vacation house rentals.
