Known as the "Cinderella of the Pacific", Ensenada is located 70 miles south of the US border, an easy drive of just over an hour. As the third largest city in Baja California, with a population of about 250,000, it is it is one of the most important ports on the Pacific Rim. It is Mexico's second most visited port-of-call for major cruise lines and pleasure boats.

More than 90% of Mexico's wines are produced in Ensenada and it's surrounding regions. The climate, warm summers and mild winters, sunny days and cool nights makes it the perfect setting to produce wine. The internationally recognized wine makers produce a number of different types and styles of wines. Most wineries offer tours and wine tasting.

The Ensenada Museum of History is located in the historic building, the Riviera del Pacifico Cultural Center (originally built in the 1930's as a hotel and casino). On display at the museum are original artifacts, handcrafts, new and antique photographs, and paintings from the native Indian Culture of Baja California.

Ensenada is fabulous to visit all year-round. There are pleasant ocean breezes in the downtown area in the summer and a temperate, mountain-valley climate northeast of the city in the wine country.

The magnificent natural blowhole, La Bufadora, and the scenic valley of Santo Tomas, are just minutes away. Within reasonable driving distance are the Sierra de Juarez and Sierra de San Pedro mountains. Other attractions include the remarkable cave paintings and unusual desert vegetation of Catavina.

Visit the Vineyards, museums and beautiful beaches of Ensenada where you can enjoy the clear ocean waters that invite swimming, surfing, jet-skiing, snorkeling, diving, sailing, kayaking, deep sea and surf fishing. On land, sports enthusiasts can enjoy tennis, cycling, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding and golf.
