About Invermere - Found on the shore of Lake Windermere in the BC Rockies and a popular year-round tourist destination stands the town of Invermere. The lake, the rivers, and the surrounding mountains offer beautiful scenery and numerous recreational opportunities. When it comes to your lodging, Owner Direct Vacation Rentals offers a variety of accommodations, ranging from condo rentals, apartments, chalets, townhomes, and lake houses where you can find comfort and enjoyment in and outside of the homes.

Where to Stay & Why - The vacation rentals can accommodate 4 people and up, where anyone can find a home-away-from-home that has what they need and want to make the most of their vacation. Choose accommodations that have one bedroom and one bathroom or choose one that has more room to make sure everyone is comfortable and has their own space. The bedrooms are outfitted with quality mattresses and beddings, and beautiful furniture and decor. The linens, pillows, and towels are also provided. The living room is equipped with a flat-screen TV with cable, a DVD player, some have an iPod dock station, game consoles, books, and board games that you can enjoy in front of the fireplace. There’s also high-speed internet to keep you connected with work or with your social media while relaxing on the comfortable couch. Did you know that you can have extra sleeping space because of the futons or sofa beds? Amazing right?!

There’s a dining table with ample space for everyone, and the surrounding kitchen is fully equipped to help prepare a big or simple meal. Some of the owners provide kitchen staples like basic spices, coffee (and coffee filters), sugar, and tea. If you want to cook outside, there’s a BBQ grill for your T-bone and steaks or you can roast wieners and smores in the firepit. Enjoy amazing lake and mountain views from the deck, balcony, or patio while lounging on the patio furniture or lawn chairs.

Do you think that’s all? Some of the rentals have a media/games room with a home theater system or games tables like foosball and air hockey, some owners provide free hot springs passes and membership to the fitness center, and Netflix - for when you decide to stay in and enjoy a movie or your favorite show. Other possible amenities include in-suite laundry facilities, air conditioning, outdoor hot tub or pool, and parking.

What to See & Do - Invermere is already a 3-hour scenic drive from Calgary, and people come here to relax, spend the summer afternoons at the beach, or go boating, river rafting and golfing. There are also spectacular parks in the area offering hiking, fishing, and even wild hot springs. In winter, the big attraction is the Panorama Mountain Resort. Of course, any time of year is a good time to soak in the mineral pools at Fairmont Hot Springs or Radium Hot Springs.

Where to Eat & Drink - Invermere is home to great places for food and drinks, and the town is geared towards taking care of visitors with its fine restaurants. Start your day at the Blue Dog Cafe; Strand’s Old House Restaurant has been nourishing its visitors in a grand old heritage home for decades; Safta’s Kitchen is a Middle Eastern cuisine that draws locals and visitors alike; for family and casual dining, the Station Neighbourhood Pub overlooks Kinsmen Beach on Lake Windermere, while Rocky River Grill offers familiar favourites. For more intimate dining, try the upscale Birchwood.

Casa Vino has a wine bar that serves more than 100 different wines, specialty beers, and spirits. If a coffeehouse is more of your style for apres-ski relaxing, Kicking Horse Coffee is also a must-visit.

How to Get Here & Getting Around - The nearest airport is in Calgary. From there, take the Trans Canada Highway (Route 1) West as far as Castle Junction. This connects to Highway 93 South, about 90 km to Radium Hot Springs.

Within the town center, almost everything is within walking distance. Otherwise, the various parts of Invermere are somewhat spread out. You can drive to Invermere or rent a car (or a bike), depending on your itinerary.

When to Go - In Invermere, the summers are comfortable and partly cloudy, and the winters are freezing, snowy, and mostly cloudy. If you’re looking to enjoy the warm-weather activities in the town itself, the best time to visit is from mid-July to mid-August.
