Kelowna Rental Guide

The city of Kelowna is situated on the shores of Okanagan Lake in the heart of the stunning Okanagan Valley, less than a five-hour drive from Vancouver. Choose from an array of lakes and beaches, provincial parks, hiking trails and golf courses. Visitors can enjoy everything from shopping (in the largest indoor Mall in the Interior) to unforgettable outdoor adventures of all kinds.

There are 19 golf courses in Kelowna ranging from easy to extremely challenging. Because of the warm, dry climate, the golf season is extended from March through November. Many Okanagan courses are PGA rated and several have hosted major national championships.

Skiing, Snowmobiling and Cross Country skiing are popular wintersports.

Hiking and biking the Kettle Valley Railway allows spectacular views of the Myra Canyon, and the Valley.

Since the first apple tree was planted here in the 1800's, the area has become renowned for its orchards, and variety of locally grown fruits.

Blossom season is an astounding sight. FRUIT HARVEST DATES; Cherries, Mid July. Apricots, late July-early August. Peaches and Nectarines, early May. Pears, late August. Apples, early September to mid-October.

Kelowna has the BC Orchard Industry Museum, which displays the history.

This friendly city is the gateway to Big White Ski Resort. Big White is located 45 miles from Kelowna in the Central Interior of B.C. It receives an average 24.5 feet of light champagne powder every year and offers outstanding skiing and riding opportunities with a wide variety of terrain.

Other major ski hills in the area are Apex Mountain Resort, in Penticton, and Silver Star Resort, in Vernon.

The Annual Okanagan Wine Festivals are now one of the top attractions in the area. Each year there is the Icewine Festival, the Spring Wine Festival, and the Fall Wine Festival.

There are more than a dozen Wineries in the Kelowna area alone, many of which give extensive winery tours.

Kelowna has the longest Floating Bridge in North America.

Sunbathers and swimmers love the local beaches. There is a downtown area beach, near the Floating Bridge, called 'Hot Sands Beach', which has a popular childrens waterpark.
